Dear Future Family: My name is Elizabeth, I am from Mexico. I have a bachelor degree in International Relations at the University of Monterrey (UDEM). Currently I am studying my master degree in International and Development Economics in HTW Berlin. I am looking for a part-time or full-time position in Berlin as a nanny, babysitter or petsitter.
I have developed a passion for knowing and learning more about different cultures and languages. My mother tongue is Spanish, but I also speak English and Portuguese fluently and have basic level studies in French and German. I have traveled through Mexico, the United States, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Iceland, France, Poland and Germany.
I studied in Harlingen, Texas for 1 year (2008-2009) where I lived with an American host family and looked after their 5 children and 1 dog.
Also, for 2 years (2012-2013), I went to Hamptons Bays, New York for the summer and took care of 1 girl, 3 cats and 2 dogs.
I went to Rio de Janeiro (2014), Brazil, to study abroad for 8 months and worked part time with a Canadian-British family and took care of 1 young child.
And for 10 months (2017), I went to Maui, Hawaii to teach Spanish and care for 2 children.
Recently (2018), I worked as an English and Spanish teacher (for children and adults) with an NGO in Rocinha, Rio de Janeiro (Favela Project) for 6 months. I really had a great time and had a lovely experience with all of them.
In my country, I have taken on the role of tutor / babysitter at a church summer camp where I have worked with children of all ages. I have been a Scout since I was 14 years old and I have also worked with children. In my university social service, I went to primary and secondary schools, where I played with children and taught them about basic pet care (cats and dogs) and raised dogs.
I love working with children! It would be an honor for me to share my culture and customs, teach them Spanish, English or Portuguese (it's fun and I have good teaching skills), take care of them, play with them, prepare food for them if necessary, and even learn from them. I believe that a person can learn a lot from a child. I enjoy doing these kinds of activities, but I would also love to be a housekeeper and take care of pets (I love animals!).
I come from a very colorful, warm, friendly and more important family oriented culture which is the Mexican culture. For me, the meaning of family and caring for pets is very important. Being part of a family that gives you a place in your home is a great honor but also a great responsibility.
