I love being involved in baby's and children’s day to day lives as a nanny, facilitating their constant growth and learning. My personality can be described as organized, reliable, insightful, innovative and curious. I regularly update my childcare knowledge by reading the latest childcare books and research articles. My approach to childcare is one of balance and respect. I believe children thrive when given freedom within boundaries. I have completed university-level papers in child development and I am confident in all baby-related duties, such as bottle preparation, weaning, hygiene and sleep routines. I always promote a healthy lifestyle, including fresh, nutritious meals, physical activity with no or minimal screen time, as well as positivity and a healthy mind. Reading, learning through play, creativity and outdoor time are encouraged while the children are in my care. My many years’ experience as a children’s gymnastics coach has given me a sound knowledge of motor skills. I value open and regular communication with the parents of the children I care for. I am a careful driver with no convictions and have never been involved in a crash.
I was born in South Africa and moved to New Zealand when I was 3 years old. I grew up and completed high school in Auckland. Straight after high school, I went to university and after graduating I moved to London for my first nanny job. It was during this time that I decided to become a career nanny. As well as childcare, I have a passion for travel. My highlights so far include Nepal, the Pacific Islands and a tour of South America. While travelling I have volunteered in kindergartens, schools and orphanages, further expanding my cultural experience. Other interests of mine include children’s fashion, sports (skiing, ice skating, gymnastics, dancing, climbing), reading, languages and cultures, history, geography and child development research.
