Letter to host family
Dear Host Family,
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
My name is Larrissa from Camerron, and I am 24years old. you surely get a lot of letters from prospective Au Pairs, but rest assured, you will not regret to read about my reasons why I want to become your Au Pair.
I am currently living with my 21years old sister, my 18years old brother, 16years old brother and my 15years old cousin in Buea, which is a town in the southwest region of Cameroon. My mom passed away at childbirth in 2007. I was just a kid and my dad pass away in 2016, I was in school at that time and a teenager, it's been my uncles as my guardian though we do not live together but they are there from a distance. So, I have been the one taking care of my siblings from childhood up till the age they are now. I have finished my high school. Completed my university studies in 2021 awaiting certificates now.
I have been a nanny for a family for 2 years during my university education, I also worked at the pediatric unit as a nurse after my graduation and taking care of my siblings till this age gave me a whole lot of experience with children of different ages.
In my spare time, I love to go hangout with friends, family mostly out of town, visit places. Just two weeks ago, my friends and I went to the beach. it is located in a town called Limbe. We went swimming and had lots of fun playing hide and seek games.
I also love reading, especially English novels.one of my favorites is Charles Dickens and I can't wait to have access to an English library to browse through all the literature I like.
I would love to become an au pair because I love children and enjoy spending time with them. I am prepared and I am well aware of the fact that being like a sister or big sister for your children comes along side with responsibilities for them and it will not always be just play and fun. My calm and patient personality will help me to master more difficult situations for instance when the kids are tired and don't want to listen to me.
Living with me is really easy as I am not a demanding person. I do respect that the house is your house and that I have to follow your house rules. If something works not quite as it should, I prefer to talk instead of ignoring things.
I have not been abroad except now that I am applying to come work over there but I am used to not seeing my dad and Mom for about 8 years now so I don't think I will become particular homesick. And there are so many ways of communicating nowadays, I could always call to talk to my siblings and family back home since USA is so far from Cameroon to go visiting often.
I am really curious to hear everything about you and your children. The information I have read about so far sounds really interesting. I hope you like my letter and I can't wait to hear back from you.
