Dear future host family! My name is Katrine, I’m 22 years old and from Copenhagen in Denmark. I finished ‘high school’ in 2021, and started studying medicine 6 months later. I quickly found that is isn’t my exact calling, and I am now taking a gap year (or two) to find out what I want to pursue. From the age of 18-20 I worked for a company I Denmark called MentorDanmark, which is a tutoring company. I taught children (ages 8-12) English and danish. Besides that I have babysat neighbors and family members since I was 13.
In 2017-2018 I was on exchange for a year in Vicenza, Italy. That was an amazing experience where I stayed with an Italian family, while I went to a local high school. I loved living in Italy, and with a foreign family and being implemented as a sister in the family. I hope to get some aspects of that experience staying as an au pair, even though I, of course, am aware I’d the differences.
From that year I have learned how to act and adapt to living with a new family. I also speak English and Italian quite fluently.
I am a very joyful and happy person. I’m not very tempered and manage to be very patient. I am currently working in elderly care, and I love making a difference with my work.
