We are seeking a responsible and caring individual to care for our 15-year-old senior dog when we are out of town traveling for work for a few days throughout the year. This role focuses specifically on providing loving care to our family dog, ensuring his well-being while we are out of town. The ideal candidate will have experience in pet care, a genuine affection for animals, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our furry family member.

We will be needing support for 5 days (4 nights), Monday-Friday in September.

We are actually looking for a FT or live-in housekeeper/senior caregiver (for our 83-year-old dad, that will also cook meals for our family of 3 and care for our dog. But if we're unable to find someone by September, we will need a dog sitter for a few days while out of town.

Responsibilities:

Senior Dog Care:

- Ensure the well-being and comfort of our senior dog throughout the day.
- Provide food and water according to dietary requirements.
- Give our dog crushed chewables each morning for his joint treatment
- Promptly report any concerns to our family

Hygiene:

- Maintain cleanliness if/as needed

Companionship:

- Offer companionship and affection to our dog during your time together.
- Create a positive and comforting atmosphere for the dog's emotional well-being.

Safety and Security:

- Ensure the dog's safety at all times, especially when outdoors or near the pool.
- Be attentive to the dog's behavior and intervene if any potential hazards arise.

Requirements:

- Prior experience in pet care, care for senior dogs is a plus
- Genuine love for animals and a compassionate approach to caregiving.
- Responsible and reliable, with a strong sense of commitment to the dog's welfare.
- Knowledge of basic pet first aid and emergency procedures is a plus.
- Ability to follow feeding schedules and feeding prep routines accurately.
- Comfortable with handling a large dog (60 lbs) and providing gentle care.
Non-smoker and committed to maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
Availability for overnight stays and specified times for dog sitting.
Willingness to provide references and undergo a background check.
