We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Housekeeper to join our household and help provide comprehensive care for our home. As the Housekeeper, you will be responsible for helping us to maintain a clean, organized, and allergen-free environment. Your approach to housekeeping will contribute to the comfort and well-being of our family as allergies and sensitivities to pollen, dust, chemicals, and fragrances can be a challenge. We do have plenty of air purifiers to help with this!
We are open to considering a part-time, full-time, drop-in, or live-in housekeeper who can clean, cook whole-food + auto-immune sensitive meals for our little family of 2, and help care for our senior dog, mainly letting him outside in the backyard for potty breaks, especially when we are not at home for work (rare) or when occasionally working remotely out of town.
We have a private room with a full bathroom for live-in support with shared living spaces including living room, dining room, kitchen, and backyard patio with pool and nature behind home).
Responsibilities
General Housekeeping:
- Perform daily cleaning tasks to maintain the cleanliness of all living spaces.
- Dust furniture, surfaces, blinds, and decorative items regularly to minimize allergens.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched areas like doorknobs, light switches, etc.
- Keep the kitchen and 2 1/2 bathrooms clean and sanitized.
Floor Care:
- Occasionally clean hardwood floors
- Occasionally vacuum 2-3 bedrooms and rugs to minimize dust and allergens
- Occasionally mop hard wood floors to ensure they are free from dirt and grime.
Kitchen Cleaning:
- Clean and sanitize countertops, sink, and kitchen appliances regularly.
- Wash dishes, kitchenware, and utensils and ensure they are properly stored.
- Help take the trash to the trash can in the backyard if/as needed and place a new bag in the kitchen trash can.
Bathroom Maintenance:
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize all bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and bathtubs in 2 1/2 bathrooms.
- Replenish toiletries and supplies as needed.
- Keep bathroom towels and linens fresh and clean.
Laundry Care (weekly):
- Wash, dry, and fold towels every other week
- Wash, dry, and replace bedding weekly
- Wash, dry, and replace dog bedding as needed
Special Cleaning:
- Conduct occasional deep cleaning, such as floors, windows, blinds, and baseboards.
- Assist with seasonal cleaning tasks as necessary.
Allergy and Sensitivity Management:
- Be diligent in removing allergens, dust, and potential irritants from the household.
- Use only allergy-friendly cleaning products with no fragrances. Includes products used for cleaning surfaces, bathrooms, kitchen, appliances, weekly laundry, etc.
Household Supplies:
- Monitor and maintain household supplies such as cleaning agents, toiletries, and other essentials.
- Inform the family when supplies need replenishing.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Housekeeper or similar role, with knowledge of housekeeping best practices preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and the safe use of cleaning equipment.
- Familiarity with allergy-friendly cleaning products is a plus.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Respectful of family privacy and confidentiality.
- Non-smoker with a keen understanding of maintaining a smoke-free environment.
- Physical ability to handle housekeeping tasks, including lifting and moving objects.
- Willingness to follow specific instructions and adapt to changing household needs.
