My name is Linda. I am a qualified teacher who has relocated to live in Vilamoura, in Portugal. Details of my previous childcare and teaching experiences and transferable skills are outlined on my CV.
I am interested in developing my career by joining the Great Au Pair Company as a nanny/ au pair, babysitter; and maybe with the additionally possibility option of providing children with any teaching and or tutoring as or if required during the holidays or later in September.
At the moment I am interested in part time and / full time nanny/ au pair work in and around the Vilamoura area, including Almancil, Vale do Lobo, Quinta do Lago, Quareira areas etc., ideally about 50 kms., 30 minutes maximum from my home, near the Golf Hotel in Vilamoura, for children aged from 6 months to teenagers. However, I am flexible time-wise, and I am keen to develop and to utilise my previous childcare experience to work, ideally in a 'long term post'with a family of over one or two months.
I have a current online D.B.S., my own transport. I enjoy all kinds of sports including swimming horse riding etc., and as a design technology teacher, I absolutely love arts and craft-making. I am very understanding of children’s needs and abilities and enjoy being an active part of their learning process.
I am a qualified experienced teacher with over twenty five years’ experience. I am interested in continuing my career as a nanny/ au pair, babysitter or as a teacher or tutor for the Au Pair Company in the Algarve in Portugal.
My goal as a nanny/ au pair is to care for, guide, instruct, protect, and teach children. I am willing to do housekeeping that includes helping children clean their rooms, clean play area, and laundry, along with light meal preparation duties as required. If I had to describe myself in five, “I am looking for a ‘long-term’ position with a family who wants a nanny/ au pair to be a part of the team, and to provide stable, loving care for their little ones.”
I would say that I am honest, caring, loving, committed, trustworthy, responsible, patient and diligent. I love working with children, and regard ‘nannying’ as a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on all of the children in my care. I believe that the best way children can learn is by playing in a safe, stimulating, fun, enriched and comfortable environment, supported by a team of their family, and
a nanny/ au pair that they like, trust and are familiar and happy to be with.
I am a dedicated teacher, with over twenty five years of successful teaching experience covering all of the core National Curriculum subjects from Reception up to Year 6, in primary and to G.C.S.E. in secondary schools. I am have taught and tutored KS3 and 4 secondary school students, along with special educational needs students, at various S.E.N. schools, and several “looked after children at various children’s homes.
I am particularly interested in working as a part time or full time nanny/ au pair at the Au Pair Company. I can also provide children with tutoring assistance and support for their individual educational needs in a wide range of subjects. I am presently doing a general TEFL course to expand my knowledge, in order to specialise in a foreign country as a foreign language teacher for Primary and Secondary School students.
I am an experienced, energetic, passionate and persistent teacher, who has a successful track record of teaching all areas of English, Maths, and Science along with all other subjects, to prepare students to pass formal assessments. In particular, I am an inspirational and dynamic teacher who is a competent team player, in planning, teaching, marking and assessing all aspects of English and Maths from KS 1, 2, 3 and 4. In my previous teaching positions I was responsible for the preparation of students for admissions tests, such as the S.A.T.’s, and exams up to G.C.S.E. Level, along with organising and the implementation of any additional booster lessons, that may have been required.
I have the highest expectations, and always aim to promote high standards of learning in all curriculum areas, and activities in either class, small group or individual learning settings in each Key Stage. As outlined in my Curriculum Vitae, I am a mature, ambitious teacher who has a broad experience and valuable transferable teaching skills to offer and contribute to the Great Au Pair Company community as a part time and / full time nanny/ au pair, babysitter and / tutor.
