I am a mature, honest, caring, loving, committed, trustworthy, responsible, patient and diligent nanny / babysitter. I love working with children, and regard ‘nannying’ as a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on all of the children in my care. I have two daughters and a 14 month old grandson. I believe that the best way children can learn is by playing in a safe, stimulating, fun, enriched and comfortable environment, supported by a team of their family, and a nanny that they like, trust and are familiar and happy to be with.
Over the last year I have taught as a supply teacher in several Kirklees or Calderdale secondary schools and at a complex needs special school, for the teaching agencies, of Provide Education, Connex Education Partnership and Supply Desk, as detailed in my references. These mainstream and special needs teaching positions involved teaching in several KS3 core subjects, French language and practical and theoretical creative design technology subject areas, including Graphics, I.T. and Food Technology.
In 2011, I worked as part of a team of play group workers in After School and Holiday Kid’s Club, in Wickersley, Rotherham.
In 2010 – 11, I was a Youth Staff Worker in Adventure Ocean Kid’s Club, on a Royal Caribbean International Cruise Ship, for babies, children and young adults aged between 6 months and 18 years played and were taught various science, geography, art and sports in a fun and interactive way.
In 1996 – 7 I opened and ran a private day nursery, called Moorgate Nursery, for up to thirty 2 to 5 year old pre-school children.
In 1985 – 7, I was Head of the Textiles (Arts and Crafts) Department at Ardingly College, West Sussex. I was a house warden at the girl’s boarding house between 1985 - 6.
