Looking for an in-house carer to work in beautiful villa in sunny Javea (Spain). Caring for our 70+ year old father (with medical problems mainly stemming from long-term alcohol problems) and helping my mother recover from a thigh bone fracture (she is starting to walk already with a zimoframe and is recovering fast). We need help maintaining the house, cooking, tidying etc. Carer will need driving license, but no need for a car - and a good level of English and preferably Spanish too, but that is not a necessity.

You will get your own lovely 2 bedroom flat (annex) rent-free on the property, with it's own bathroom, kitchen and livingroom. We're looking for someone to be part of the family and to feel at home. My parents are very nice people - which is what previous carers have said! Up to €1500 per month for 3 months trial to start with, with possibility of extending the contract for long-term, if the trial goes well and everyone is happy with the arrangement. Specific duties: * Making sure father takes correct medicine in the mornings and evenings * Monitoring his blood sugar level (using simple machine we have) * Occasionally needing help with toilet and shower duties * Taking him to medical appointments * Driving to hospital in emergencies, and staying in hospital if needed * Assisting him in small walks and simple exercise (we have a programme) * General vigilence and care duties * Driving to the store to pick up groceries * Cooking and preparing food * Help during the night if need be (we will have an intercom system, so that he can call through to the carer's flat). Sometimes there is more help needed at night than in the day, as my father has difficulties sleeping. But in those cases- if it's a busy night (which is only occassional), then you can sleep some extra hours during the day of course! * Helping my mother with similar duties (she is recovering from a broken thigh bone). She has late onset Parkinsons, so experience with Parkinsons would be helpful. But she does not have many symptoms yet, and when she recovers from the thigh bone fracture, she won't need much help at all herself. * Being extra vigilant with Covid of course, as my parents are high-risk.

We are looking for someone to start in January 2021, but possibly sooner if need be.

Holiday days can be negotiated, and we do know some local carers who can cover the occasional weekend or holiday period - although if you also have recommended colleagues that would make things easier.
