Au Pair / Rehabilitation Assistant Needed – East Rand (South Africa)
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate Au Pair / Care Assistant to support an elderly woman recovering from spinal surgery. This is a 1-year position based in the East Rand area, focused on rehabilitation, daily care, and household support until full strength and independence are regained.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting with post-spinal surgery rehabilitation, including guided exercise regimes (as prescribed)
Providing day-to-day personal support and supervision
Assisting with basic nursing care where required
Supporting mobility, strength-building, and recovery goals
Managing household duties, including:
Grocery shopping
Meal assistance/preparation
Light housekeeping and general home upkeep
Offering companionship, encouragement, and structured daily routines
Requirements:
Background or training in Physiotherapy, Basic Nursing, or related healthcare fields
Experience working with elderly patients or post-surgical rehabilitation (highly advantageous)
Own reliable transport (essential)
Valid driver’s license
Patient, responsible, and physically capable
Non-smoker preferred
Traceable references
