We are seeking a mature, experienced live‑in companion/carer to support our mother, an 88‑year‑old retired doctor living independently in East Melbourne. She is gentle, intelligent and enjoys conversation, reading and routine. Her main needs relate to safety, falls prevention, and day‑to‑day support, rather than medical care.

She lives next door to her daughter (lawyer) and granddaughter (university student), so family support is close by, and you will never be isolated in the role.

Duties include:
Being present in the home during key hours for safety and reassurance

Supervising showering and assisting with falls‑prevention routines

Preparing simple meals (breakfast and lunch)

Light household tasks (tidying, dishes, basic cleaning)

Helping with paperwork, mail, and organising appointments

Providing companionship, conversation, and general oversight

Monitoring wellbeing and communicating any concerns to family

Experience required:
Prior experience in aged care, disability support, nursing, allied health, or similar roles

Must be reliable, calm, patient, and mature

Not suitable for someone brand new to care work

Ideal for a nurse, allied health student, mature student, carer, or someone with previous live‑in or elder‑support experience

Good English and clear communication skills essential
