Aging family members or the disabled can be increasingly challenging to care for, especially when you are faced with the responsibilities of caring for them. I realize there comes a time when you face a difficult decision in whether to place your loved one into an assisted living environment or to hire safe & reliable help for them, allowing them to remain in their home longer. Looking into safe, compassionate, yet affordable help is time consuming & somewhat stressful. The cost of placing them in assisted living homes is shockingly high & what is affordable may not be preferred or acceptable living conditions. They would like to remain independent & you would like to allow them to for as long as feasible, but obviously require a certain amount of assistance now to do so. That is where I come in, as a good solution to your care giving needs.
Some services provided are meal planning, shopping and meal preparation, medication management, transportation, social outings, assistance with bathing, shaving, transferring from chairs & beds, hair care & nails, pet care, light house work, laundry (no ironing), paying bills, promote & encourage light exercise & to get out & be social. Of course I'd provide joyful, quality companionship needed respite for family caregivers.
My ideal care job would love animals as I do; hopefully allow me to bring my sweet, well behaved, little 2 year old ShihTzu, Sofia Loren, with me if position is for a live-in. Of course this would not apply if job was in my own town and not a live-in.
For your information, I already have references & both County & State background checks to provide you. I have taken CPR, First Aid and Life Saving, and learned a wide variety of medical skills over the years.
I would ultimately like to be a long-term employee, and become an extension of the senior's family too. I would consider live-in if there is personal time off on a regular basis, my own bedroom & bath. I would also work a part time position with set schedule, a minimum of 12 hours and maximum of 25-40 weekly. Either way, I require to be paid weekly by personal check, cash, money order.
I am a mature woman with a good sense of humor, am dependable, a non-smoker, am positive-minded, upbeat, & patient, with high moral values, am compassionate, empathetic, respectful, dedicated, protective, and will keep private information confidential.
I have cared for people with: arthritis, COPD, high blood pressure, Parkinson's, chronic pain, asthma, sleep disorders, that had cancer, sight & hearing impaired, had dementia, was ambulatory & non-ambulatory, with allergies, emotional & psychological issues, Alzheimer's & post surgery.
Some duties I usually perform are: medication management, assist with bathing, grooming, diaper changes, light housekeeping, linen changes, grocery shopping, errands, preparing meals, transportation to events and doctor appointments, care for house plants and pets, along with empathetic, dedicated, positive attitude, often humorous and quality companionship. My rates are reasonable, and I have references I will provide.
I have an up-to-date passport and am also willing to travel. I love pets & do have a little Shih Tzu dog who is very well behaved & just a little love bug. So if I moved, hopefully we would come as a package. If you're an animal lover, I'm sure you'd understand.
If you are presently taking care of a senior person, or require assistance yourself, I have extensive experience and can handle that for you.
If live-in, I would prefer to have my own bedroom and bathroom with a tv, cable and internet wifi. If job is outside Missouri, access to a car, and paid airline arrangements required. I am sorry, but will not work or live in a home where residents smoke inside.
My schedule and duties would be open for discussion. If job is long term, I would need at least a 4 day weekend to go home every 3 to 4 mos. If job is overseas, I would appreciate time off a few times per year to go home & visit family.
