Introduction
Hi, my name is Marie, 43 years of age and a reverted Muslim (born and raised by a Filipino-Christian family).
I am currently working in Male, Maldives as a homecare nurse and taking care of an 80-year old woman with diabetes, hypertension and an early stage of dementia since 2024 of March until date. I am responsible of taking vitals signs, administering daily medication and insulin, providing full-companionship in and out of the country whenever necessary, preparing diabetic meals and good grooming such as bath assistance, dressing and changing bedsheets and light household chores and errands.
Just a brief story about my healthcare experience, I shifted from being an office worker to being a professional caregiver after I finished working in the UAE for about 7 years. I took a course in Caregiving and graduated in the Philippines and I possess an NCII and I am a certified BLS provider, after a 2-week OJT in a local hospital, I landed a job in an ambulance company and worked for 6 months, also worked for a private local family and went back to the same hospital for a nursing-aide position thereafter I received an opportunity from GreatAupair to work in Maldives as I've mentioned earlier.
It is my passion and calling I guess, since my mother is also hypertensive and hyperglycaemic herself I thought of knowing more about different illnesses and how to manage them with the basic knowledge I've learned.
With the working behaviour, knowledge and skills that I have, I am fully capable to handle and take care of bedridden patients and people with disabilities (both for babies and elderlies) I am a hard-working, emphatic, people-person, very patient and trustworthy individual.I am convinced that we work to live and not live to work hence I am an absolute believer of work-life balance environment. I prefer an open-communication with my future employer/s and keep a healthy, happy and stressless life for both parties.
I would be more than happy to land a job for a carer/nanny position if I will be given an opportunity in Canada or EU countries and my credentials are available upon request. Thank you.
