Hello future host family! :)
My name is Spela and I come from a small village in Slovenia. I am 26 years old. I'm going to finish my student work and other UNI responsibilities in September, so I've decided to give this site another go :) I am currently looking for short term positions up to 3 months for aupairs or up to 1 year for personal assistant.
Below is a short description that will give you a better look into my life. I'm kindly inviting you to read it and if you find me as a good match for your family, you are very welcome to leave me a message :)

MY PERSONALITY
In general I am a very happy, humorous, outgoing and optimistic person, that will never see a problem that can't be solved.
Since I started with UNI I've been enrolled into different activities such as the student counsil, different commissions etc. These opportunities have given me a lot of experience with event organisation, leadership, public speaking and made me into a very responsible and mature person.
MY FAMILY
I come from a family of 5, my mom, dad, older sister and a twin brother. Unfortunately we only see each other every other weekend, since I'm currently living in our capital, due to study reasons :) A big part of our family are also our pets, that we have quite a lot of. We have two cute dogs, two cats, three ducks and two chickens, so there is always a lot going on at our house.
Over the years my family circle got bigger, because my best friends stepped into it. I've been lucky to have three best friends that I love very much. I also have a big group of other friends like my roomates and people that I met during UNI years, that we still remain in close touch and that I can always count on, as well as they can count on me.
EDUCATION
I am enrolled in Biotechnical faculty, University and am currently finishing the last year of my studies on the Masters program Food science and Nutrition. After that I am going to take a year off to finish my thesis and do some travelling and occasional work, before starting a 9 to 5 job in July :)
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES
I like spending my free time with my friends and family. I enjoy going out, travelling, going on trips, exploring other cultures (especially their cousine :) and being active through running, gym etc..
But there are also days where I like to stay in, read a book, watch a good movie and just relax.
CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE
During my high school year, so quite a long time ago, I did some volunteer work at local grade school, where I helped kids with learning difficulties. I absolutely loved it, I find children very amusing and they have such warm hearts, so they quickly grow on you. I've always been the "kids person aka. free nanny" when it came to weddings and other celebrations, so one year I decided to make an aupair profile.
My first job was taking care of 4 young kids in Austria. It was during summer break and we had a lot of fun, so the family invited me to come back next year, when they expected their 5th child. I will admit that it was a bit exhausting, so a few years later, when I was searching for my third aupair job, I decided to take on a bit less kids, so I can give them each more attention. I also had a bit more confidence in travelling further away, so I accepted a job in the UK, taking care of a 4 year old girl. That has been the best aupair experience so far. In both cases I was very lucky, because I came into a caring and lovely family, that really considered me as their daughter.
LANGUAGES
My first language is Slovenian and my second language, that I am more or less fluent, in is English. I also know basics of German.
WHY DO I WANT TO BE AN AU PAIR?
The thing I like the most when doing au pair work, is that it makes you feel like you are in an entirely different world, like your life at home has stopped. It gives you an opportunity to live a completely different life and it's an experience every person should have.
