My name is Shelley, I’m a 33-year-old UK national currently looking to live and work abroad — ideally in France, where I’ve previously lived and absolutely fell in love with the culture, pace of life, and people.
I come with a broad and balanced background: I currently work as a support worker for a gentleman with a traumatic brain injury, which has given me deep experience in providing calm, attentive, and compassionate care. I also teach English online to Korean students, so I’m confident and experienced in communicating clearly, especially with children or learners of all levels.
I’m divorced with no children of my own, but I play a huge role in the lives of my three little nieces — all under 4 years old. I regularly help care for them, from bedtime stories and bath time to fun, messy play and helping them learn new things. I adore children and am comfortable with all their ups and downs.
I’ve also worked in France before in a general assistant role, so I understand the rhythm of French life and can adapt easily. I speak a little French and am always eager to learn more.
A big part of my life is my 10-year-old dog, who is gentle, well-behaved, fully house-trained, and used to being around children and other pets. He’s calm and brings a lot of warmth and comfort, especially in quiet, homely settings. I would love to find a position where his presence is welcome.
I consider myself sensible, independent, respectful, and emotionally mature, with a good education and strong values. I’m equally happy playing with children in the garden, keeping a home running smoothly, or sitting down with someone for a quiet, heartfelt conversation.
