Hello Future Host Family!

My name is Ivy, and I’m a 28-year-old certified healthcare professional from the Philippines. I am a kind, trustworthy, and respectful person, and as a single Christian with no kids of my own, I am so excited to hopefully join a lovely host family as a supportive "big sister" and share our different cultures!

My journey with childcare actually started quite early on. Back when I was still a student—from my third year of high school all the way to my first year of college—I used to work as a nanny during weekends and nights to care for a sweet 5-year-old girl. Balancing school and babysitting taught me so much, and honestly, that’s where my love for guiding little ones really started.

Later on, I brought that passion into my actual medical career. I hold a Health Care Services NC II Certification and spent nearly two years as a Nurse Assistant at the Adventist Medical Center. I was mostly assigned to a mixed ward handling Pediatrics, PICU, Adult, and Geriatric patients. It was primarily a pediatric station, but we would admit older patients too if the other wards ran out of space! Because of this, I got tons of hands-on experience with baby and adult bathing, diapering, cord care, and making sure infants are safe and comfortable. I’m also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), so I know exactly how to handle first aid and CPR for both kids and adults if there’s ever an emergency.

Oh, and if your family has pets, they’ll get plenty of love too! I’m a huge animal lover and actually I have a 3 Mini-Pinscher, 1 Shih-Tzu, and a Cat. I also worked as a Veterinary Nurse and Animal Handler, so I’m totally pet-friendly and comfortable caring for dogs or other animals.

Aside from the clinical side of things, I love bringing a creative spark into the house. I hold a Visual Graphic Design NC III Certification, so I'm always up for doing arts and crafts, drawing, or playing games with the kids. I also love to sing, play a bit of guitar, and I can ride a bike and a scooter!

On a personal note, I’m a non-smoker, I don’t drink, and I really love keeping a clean, tidy space. I'm more than happy to help out around the house with household chores and cook some yummy meals like Adobo, Pancit, Lumpia, and other Filipino foods for the family.

I’m very adaptable, deeply respectful of family boundaries, and just really passionate about creating a safe, fun, and warm environment where your children feel happy and cared for.
