Dear host family,

I am already looking forward to getting to know you. But first, let me introduce myself.

My name is Monique Etquibal. I am 23 years old and from the small city Valenzuela in Philippines. With my parents, Emmanuel (42) and Cristina (43), and my brother, Melquisedech (25) and Emj (12), and my sisters, Sofia (11) and Nicole (2). I am living in a house that is located in an urban area. We have got two dogs and 1 cat, who love to cuddle all day. My father works as a remittance, my mother stays in our house. Melquisedech is currently got his college degree. Emj is currently attending the 6th grade of primary school. Sofia is currently attending 5th grade of primary school. Nicole is still a toddler. Overall, we are a pretty large family.

I consider myself to be a trustworthy and kind individual who strives to make the best of any circumstance. I enjoy spending time with my friends; they are as essential to me as my family. Always trying to help, I’m always there for them if they need me.?In my free time, I like to listen to music, go shopping. Furthermore, I enjoy reading a good book and singing – even though I cannot sing. Every summer, I tutor my 2 siblings who's still in primary. I also work as a Service Crew for almost 2 years.
?When my brother and sister was younger, I also took care of them, when our mum was working. Through this time, I have found out how much fun it is to have children around, I can’t imagine a life without them.?The reason why I want to go to the Netherlands as an au pair is that I want to get to know the Dutch way of life as well as different cultures. Above all, it would be a fantastic opportunity to spend a complete year caring for youngsters. It would also be fantastic to strengthen my English skills.
