Introduction

?Hi! My name is Jennylyn – I’m writing this from my home in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines, and honestly? I can barely sit still I’m so excited about the thought of coming to Amsterdam to be your aupair.
?
?Let me start with what matters most – kids. I’ve always loved being around them. For the past three years, I’ve been helping take care of my niece and nephew (they’re 5 and 8 now), Every single kid is so unique and I love figuring out what makes them tick – one day we’ll spend hours outside hunting for interesting rocks or playing tag until we’re both out of breath. My background in healthcare really helps too – I’m currently studying BS Midwifery, so I know all about child safety, basic first aid, proper hygiene practices, and how kids develop physically and emotionally. I’m pretty solid at helping with homework too – okay, math wasn’t my strongest subject back in school, but I’ve learned how to break things down so it makes sense and doesn’t feel like a chore. Most importantly though? I make sure they’re safe, happy, and learning something new every single day.
?
?I’m in my 2nd year of Midwifery school, and while it keeps me busy, it’s only made me more passionate about caring for people – especially little ones. I’ve already completed coursework in child development, nutrition, and basic pediatric care, which I know will be so useful as an aupair. English is one of our official languages here in the Philippines, so I’m completely comfortable speaking it day in and day out – no communication issues there!
?
?I get that being an aupair isn’t just about looking after the little ones – you need someone who can help keep things running smoothly around the house too. I’m more than happy to pitch in wherever I can. I can whip up healthy breakfasts and school lunches (I know all about balanced meals for growing kids from my studies!), tidy up after playdates, and do their laundry without turning all their white shirts pink – yes, I learned that lesson the hard way with my nephew’s favorite t-shirt haha. Also – I cook great Filipino food. My adobo is a total crowd pleaser, I make a pancit that’ll have you asking for seconds, and I can whip up fresh lumpia whenever you want something light and tasty. I’m also lowkey excited to learn how to make proper Dutch dishes – I’ve been watching videos of people making bitterballen and stamppot, and I cannot wait to give them a try!
?
?Where I come from, family is everything. We look out for each other, we respect our elders, and we work hard at whatever we do – no cutting corners. That’s exactly how I’d be with you guys. I want to be someone you can count on 100%, whether it’s getting the kids to school on time, remembering their dietary needs or allergies, or just being there to listen if they’ve had a tough day. My Midwifery training has taught me to be patient, observant, and calm in any situation – perfect for when things get a little crazy with kids! I’m pretty laidback by nature, I roll with changes easily (because let’s face it – kids never stick to a schedule!), and I genuinely want to be part of your family’s daily life – not just someone who clocks in and out.
?
?When I have free time – which I know will be when the kids are at school or asleep – I love reading (I go through kids’ books faster than most kids do because they’re so creative and fun!), I also love going for walks around our city – we’ve got some beautiful parks and rivers here – and I’m always up for trying new foods or exploring new places. I’ve never been to Europe before, so the thought of living in a place with canals everywhere, where everyone bikes everywhere, and where there are museums and markets around every corner is so cool to me. I’d also love to share some Filipino stuff with you all – maybe teach the kids a silly Tagalog song, show you how we make traditional coconut candy, or tell you stories about the fiestas we have here during the holidays. Plus, I’m hoping to learn more about Dutch healthcare and culture while I’m there – it’ll be so interesting to compare it to what I’m studying here!
?
?I know you’ve probably got a ton of people applying for this position, and I totally get that choosing someone to look after your kids is one of the biggest decisions you can make. I can give you references from the families I’ve worked for – they’ll tell you I’m reliable, patient, and that their kids absolutely love me. I’d also love to hop on a video call whenever works for you guys – I think it’s way better to talk face to face so you can get a real feel for who I am, and I can ask you all about your family, your kids, and what you’re looking for in an aupair.
?
?Anyway, thanks so much for taking the time to read this. I really, really hope we get to meet and see if I’m the right fit for your family. I think this could be such an amazing adventure for all of us, and I’d be so honored to be part of your lives.
?
?Take care and hope to hear from you soon!
?
?Jennyln
