Hello Future Host Family! ??

My name is Melesa, I am 24 years old, and I come from the small and beautiful town of Anda, Bohol, known for its white sandy beaches and clear waters. I would describe myself as a warm, caring, responsible, hardworking, and creative person. I am patient, adaptable, and naturally enjoy helping others, especially when it comes to children and family life. Currently, I am working as an SK Chairperson, a youth leadership role in my community where I organize activities, lead programs, and support young people. This experience has helped me become more responsible, proactive, and confident in handling different situations. In my free time, especially during weekends, I love spending quality time with my family. We enjoy cooking together, bonding, and once a month we go swimming, which is something I truly cherish. I also enjoy crocheting, and I sometimes create handmade crochet products that I sell as a small hobby business. It allows me to relax while expressing my creativity. Recently, I have also become interested in learning the German language, and I have been studying and practicing it in my free time.

I come from a big and loving family with 10 siblings—2 older sisters and 8 older brothers. Most of them are already married and have families of their own, and we all live close to each other in the same neighborhood, which makes our family bond very strong. I currently live with my mother and my two older brothers who are still single. My father passed away when I was 7 years old, and since then, my mother has been a full-time homemaker who raised us with love, strength, and dedication. I also have a big extended family with 8 nieces and 11 nephews, whom I have been babysitting and caring for since they were infants up to their current ages. This experience has given me strong childcare skills, including patience, attentiveness, responsibility, and the ability to handle children with different personalities and age groups. Growing up in such a close and supportive family has taught me important values such as kindness, respect, responsibility, adaptability, and the importance of helping and caring for others—values that I carry with me in everything I do.

During Senior High School, I took the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand with a focus on the medical track. I later pursued a degree in Civil Engineering in college. From high school through college, I was actively involved in student government, which helped me develop strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. This experience gave me the confidence to run for SK Chairperson in the 2023 elections, a role I currently hold. However, early last year, I had to pause my studies due to financial reasons. It was a difficult decision, especially after completing my internship at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and earning my Safety Officer 2 certification through various trainings and seminars. Despite this, I chose to remain positive and continue developing myself through other meaningful experiences. During my college years, to earn extra money for my allowance, I tutored students while also selling handmade crochet products. I tutored senior high school and college students in programs such as Nursing, Environmental Science, and Radiologic Technology, teaching subjects like Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. Through this, I developed patience, adaptability, and the ability to explain lessons clearly to learners of different levels. At home, I also take on important responsibilities, especially since my mother is older. I regularly cook meals, do laundry, and help maintain cleanliness and organization in our household, which has further strengthened my sense of responsibility and independence. With all these experiences, I am confident that I can be a valuable support to your family—not only in caring for your children, but also in contributing to your daily routines with initiative, reliability, and a positive attitude.

I want to become an au pair because I genuinely love spending time with children and enjoy helping them learn, play, and grow. It brings me happiness to support their development and be part of their daily lives. I would also love to share my culture with your family while learning about your traditions and way of life. I am especially excited about the opportunity to experience and learn from different cultures around Europe, and I believe this journey will help me grow both personally and professionally.
