Dear family,

Hello and thank you for looking at my profile. My name is Khadija (or popularly, Dida) a confident self-starter with an excellent command of the English language. I’d be pleased if you’d consider me for the childcare/teaching position with your family.

I’m a keen house manager and have worked as a governess, nanny, tutor, librarian, admin assistant, freelance writer and translator. My forte is English and I adore children; striving to be a positive influence while they quickly worm their way into my heart and stay there, forever!

I believe I can contribute to your child's development by:
* Instilling and reinforcing positive behaviour, etiquette and hygiene.
* Providing a fun, safe and intellectually-stimulating learning environment.
* Homework assistance, school runs and liaising with teachers.
* Encouraging a reading culture.
* Meal and party planning, organising play-dates and shopping errands.
* Selecting age-appropriate activities, books, movies and games (limiting TV time)

I'm First Aid certified with Infant CPR yet know it's the kiss and not the band-aid that takes the 'owies' away. Cooking is a pleasure I indulge occasionally - otherwise, I'd never leave the kitchen - and love to 'jazz' up kids' snacks and meals e.g. colourful vegetable rainbows, alphabet pancakes and the leaning tower of carrot sticks. My Kenya Certificate of Good Conduct was last updated in May 2011 and is the equivalent of a CRB check.

I am trustworthy, dependable, organised, creative and energetic. I’m also dedicated to bringing out the best in children by being a role model, mentor and friend. I speak and write fluent English, fluent Kiswahili, some Arabic, some French, plus hellos, thank-yous and goodbyes in other languages. I also understand a wee bit of Hindi, a wee bit of Spanish and a wee bit of Tagalog.

My interests/ hobbies include swimming, travel, pets, languages, hiking, crossword puzzles and Sudoku, psychology, health and fitness, cycling, music and dance, water sports, child development, creative writing and reading books, many many books :)
I hope this gives you an idea of what sort of a teacher/caregiver I am.
