Dear Host Family,

My name is Melsa, but most people call me Sasa. I come from Indonesia, a beautiful country with many cultures, warm people, and strong family values. I grew up in a close and caring environment where helping each other and respecting others are very important. These values shaped me into the person I am today — friendly, patient, responsible, and open-minded.

I would describe myself as someone who truly enjoys spending time with children. I feel happy when I can help them learn, laugh, and feel safe. During my university years, I often helped take care of children in my neighborhood and within my extended family. I helped with simple daily routines such as playing with them, preparing simple meals, helping them with homework, and making sure they were safe and comfortable. Through these experiences, I learned that every child has a different personality and needs a different approach. This taught me patience, creativity, and empathy.

In addition to that, I also worked in a children’s play area. This experience helped me become more confident in managing groups of children, keeping them engaged in fun activities, and maintaining a safe environment. I learned how to stay calm in busy situations, communicate clearly, and pay attention to children’s emotions and needs. It also helped me understand how important it is to be both caring and responsible when working with children.

I speak English at a B1 level, which allows me to communicate in everyday situations. I am still learning and improving, and I am motivated to become more fluent. I believe living with a host family will help me improve naturally while also sharing my culture with you.

One of my biggest motivations for joining a family abroad is the opportunity to experience a new culture and way of life. I am very curious about how families in other countries live, celebrate traditions, and spend time together. At the same time, I would love to share Indonesian culture with you — our food, our traditions, and our warm way of interacting with others. I believe cultural exchange is one of the most valuable experiences in life.

As a person, I am adaptable and willing to learn. I understand that living in a new country and a new family requires flexibility, respect, and communication. I am ready to follow house rules, support daily routines, and help create a peaceful and positive atmosphere in the home. I am not only looking for a place to stay, but for a family connection where we can respect and support each other.

In my free time, I enjoy simple activities such as listening to music, watching movies, cooking, and learning new things. I also like spending time outdoors and exploring new places. I am a calm person, but I also enjoy fun moments and laughter, especially with children.

I hope to find a host family that is kind, open, and welcoming. For me, the most important thing is mutual respect, good communication, and a warm environment where everyone feels comfortable. I would love to become someone you can trust with your children and your home, and at the same time, someone who can learn and grow from this experience.
