Dear Host family,

My Name is Bernice, I am a 24 year old and I come from Cameroon. I am a Bachelor of Nursing Science graduate and a Registered nurse with the Cameroon Nurses Association. I am excited about the opportunity to become an au pair because I would love to experience new culture, improve my language skills, and become a caring and supportive member of a host family.

I have always enjoyed caring for others, and my nursing background has helped me develop qualities such as patience, responsibility, compassion, organization, and attention to safety. Through my studies and healthcare experience, I have learned the Importance of providing kind and respectful care, especially when supporting children and families.

I have experience caring for children and understand the Importance of creating a safe, positive, and encouraging environment for them. I have also supported my cousin with her baby since birth, helping with daily routines such as feeding support, diaper changes, hygiene, soothing and general baby care. This experience has made me more comfortable and confident around young children.

As an au pair, I would be happy to help with children’s daily routines, preparing simple meals, school preparation, homework support, playtime, reading, and light child-related household tasks. I understand that every family has its own routines and expectations, and I am adaptable and willing to learn what works best for your family.

I am bilingual in English and French, and I would love to share my language and culture with your children while learning from yours. I believe cultural exchange is a wonderful way to grow, build friendships, and create meaningful memories.

I would describe myself as caring, respectful, hardworking, open-minded, and reliable. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, football, music, arts, exploring new places and trying new adventures. I love nature and would be excited to discover new environments and traditions with my host family.

I hold a valid Cameroonian driver’s license and understand the importance of safety and responsibility when driving.
