Hello! My name is Sammy, and I’m a 26-year-old American nanny currently living in California. I’m excited to introduce myself and share a bit about who I am, my experience with children, and why becoming an au pair is such a meaningful next step for me.

I plan to pursue a career in early childhood education, specifically teaching kindergarten, and caring for young children has always felt like a natural calling. I’m drawn to this age because it’s where curiosity, learning, and emotional growth come together. I love helping children build confidence as they explore the world around them. Becoming an au pair allows me to grow as both a caregiver and an educator while gaining valuable, hands on experience within a family setting.

Over the years, I’ve gained extensive childcare experience through babysitting and nannying for multiple families, as well as working in a daycare. I’ve cared for babies, toddlers, and school-aged children, supporting daily routines such as meals, naps, playtime, learning activities, and homework. Through this work, I’ve learned the importance of patience, consistency, and emotional awareness in helping children feel safe, supported, and understood.

I’m certified in CPR and First Aid and am known for being calm, intuitive, and reliable, especially in moments when children need reassurance or gentle structure. I believe in setting clear, kind boundaries while encouraging independence, curiosity, and confidence. I always strive to lead with empathy and adapt my care to each child’s unique personality and needs.

Outside of childcare, I’m a creative and curious person. I love art, books (I’m always reading), writing short stories or poems, and music, though I’ll admit my singing skills leave something to be desired! I enjoy bringing creativity into everyday moments with children, whether through crafts, outdoor adventures, reading together, or shared routines that make learning fun and natural. I’m also organized and dependable, and I understand how important it is for parents to feel supported and at ease.

I also come from a strong caregiving background within my own family, where I learned the value of patience, empathy, and responsibility by supporting loved ones who needed extra care. These experiences shaped me into someone dependable, emotionally aware, and deeply respectful of others’ needs, qualities I bring into my work with children every day.

I’m excited about becoming an au pair because I truly value cultural exchange.
