My name is Odeka, I am 24 years old, and I am a final-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing student from Trinidad and Tobago. I will be graduating in October 2026, and caring for others has been the foundation of both my education and my life. I am excited about the opportunity to become an Au Pair because it combines two things I truly enjoy: supporting families and helping children learn, grow, and feel safe.

Through my nursing education, I have gained extensive experience caring for people of all ages, including newborns, infants, children, adults, and older adults. My clinical training has taught me how to remain calm under pressure, recognize health concerns, respond appropriately in emergencies, maintain hygiene and safety standards, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care. These skills have helped me become responsible, attentive, organized, and dependable.

I genuinely enjoy spending time with children. I love engaging them in age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, learning, and confidence. Whether it’s reading bedtime stories, helping with homework, arts and crafts, educational games, outdoor adventures, baking together, music, dancing, or simply being someone they can trust and talk to, I believe every child deserves kindness, patience, and encouragement.

I understand that every family has its own routines and parenting style, and I always strive to respect those while providing consistent, loving care. I am happy to assist with children’s daily routines, including preparing meals and snacks, feeding younger children, bathing, dressing, school drop-offs and pick-ups, organizing playtime, maintaining nap schedules, helping with homework, and keeping children’s bedrooms, toys, and play areas clean and organized. I am also willing to help with light household tasks related to the children, such as laundry, tidying up, and meal preparation.

Beyond childcare, I enjoy cooking, learning new recipes, staying active, walking, listening to music, painting, and exploring new cultures. Becoming an Au Pair is more than just a job to me ..it is an opportunity to become part of a family’s daily life, build meaningful relationships, and experience a new culture while sharing my own.

Families often describe me as caring, patient, trustworthy, respectful, hardworking, adaptable, and easy to communicate with. I believe children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and encouraged, and I always aim to create a positive and nurturing environment where they can grow emotionally, socially, and intellectually.

My nursing background has given me confidence in recognizing signs of illness, practicing infection prevention, administering basic first aid when appropriate, and maintaining a safe environment for children. Safety is always one of my highest priorities.

I speak English fluently and am always eager to learn about new cultures, traditions, and languages. I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and believe cultural exchange is one of the most rewarding parts of becoming an Au Pair.
