Sr. Front-End UX/UI Designer/Developer

Sr. Front-End UX/UI Designer/Developer with a solid foundation in design and UX/UI who enjoys taking the lead and working with an inspiring team who will push you to deliver the very best in elegantly simple pages with complex validation and logic using standards-based HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery for dynamic web applications.

This position is focused on front-end UX/UI design and integration. You'll need to be well versed in responsive CSS/HTML/JavaScript webpage design and implementation across all modern browsers. Our development team will handle all the JQuery/CF/SQL integration but you'll need to be familiar with the design and UI side of dynamic web apps.

Requirements

This is a remote contract position, convertible to full-time remote work with benefits for the right professional. As a Sr. Front-End UX/UI Designer/Developer, you must have at least 5 years of progressive experience and responsibility in front-end design, development and integration. Candidates must demonstrate high levels of proficiency with:

The ideal candidate will have a technical B.A. and or B.F.A. with formal design training, solid organizational skills, be confident, fast and efficient with all tasks and must be an excellent, open communicator. This is a remote, free-lance position that could lead to a permanent post. You must have your own work space, systems, software and high- speed Internet connection and be familiar working as a critical part of a highly motivated, fast-moving virtual team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
  • Build page navigation buttons and search fields
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
  • Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
You must be willing to accept feedback and iterate through rounds of changes. You should consider yourself patient and willing to tweak CSS and InDesign/AI layouts to pixel perfection. If doing that drives you crazy, do not apply.
