Sr. Software Quality Assurance Analyst

GreatAuPair is seeking a full-time Senior Software Quality Assurance Analyst to join our development team. This individual should have strong manual testing experiences with web-based applications including REST based APIs and SQL databases. You will be participating in all aspects of product testing, including test plan development, execution, and delivery of well-tested solutions with a short time to release. In addition, we are looking for you to help with mentoring and assisting our development team with the development of test plans and estimates. You will be expected to be able to work on multiple projects and perform hands-on testing independently.

This is a full-time, remote position with benefits for the right professional. As a Senior Software Quality Assurance Analyst, you must have at least 5 years of experience in software quality assurance with experience working on web-based software applications.

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • The ability to integrate the whole picture through creation of end-to-end test scenarios along with functional, regression, and performance (stress/load) test plans
  • Advanced knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, automated testing, and terminology
  • Proficiency with SQL server and writing SQL queries
  • Ability to quickly assess requirements of a project, set performance goals and assess the scope of a project with regards to testing and quality assurance requirements
  • Experience in reporting test results to different functional groups
  • A proven ability to deliver products with the highest quality and on time
  • Strong software troubleshooting and software problem analysis skills
  • A solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle

Job Duties and Responsibilities

You will be working alongside our current development team and will report to the Director of Development. Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the development and operations teams to develop test plans for the existing applications in their current state
  • Review bug descriptions, functional requirements, design documents and code with developers to design test criteria and develop both manual and automated test plans
  • Implement, perform, and analyze the results of both manual and automated test plans on an ongoing basis
  • Document work thoroughly and clearly (bugs, test plans, and test cases)
  • Determine test cycles, phases, and conditions; provide recommendations and implementation assistance to expand upon the existing testing environment and equipment
  • Enforce QA standards for all phases of testing
  • Identify software capability and reliability by conducting functional, system and performance tests
  • Continuously increase business process knowledge to become a subject matter expert throughout the applications
  • Perform functional testing, regression testing and support for all phases of the software development life-cycle
  • Participate in production support by troubleshooting problems and identifying solutions
  • Contribute to QA process improvement
  • Create and maintain ownership of test plans, cases and test results throughout software development life-cycle
