Dear candidate, we are very much excited about the opportunity to have you come to our island and our home. This is a very unique opportunity for you to immerse yourself in a different culture while exploring a beautiful island in the Caribbean. There is plenty to do in your free time and lots of perks we are able to offer. You are close to several hikes and historic properties to explore. Snorkeling is within walking distance and in many other areas of the island. You'll be able to use kayaks, SUPs and snorkeling gear and also have access to use lounge chairs and umbrellas where Brian works for free on your days off. This is 2 miles from our home on the coast. All we ask is for you to be responsible, respectful and caring.
We are judge free, animal loving family, LGBTQ and 420 friendly so would expect you to be too.
We live in a 2 bedroom home in the rainforest overlooking the Caribbean Sea in a secluded area in an already small island, there is not reliable public transportation or taxis available, we will provide you access to a car and a bicycle to get around. The closest grocery store is 15-20 minutes away but you can walk to the beach, snorkel spots and surf spots from our house. You’ll have your own room with a shared bathroom and all your meals provided by us, we love to cook but also enjoy going out occasionally for local cuisine.
I have been an Nanny and an Au Pair my self many years ago in the US and Italy, I’m originally from Venezuela so my mother tongue is Spanish, I’m also fluent in English and Italian but its hard to keep up with the language when I don’t practice it everyday anymore, I’m hoping to find a Nanny that loves children, has a sense of adventure and curiosity, that’s willing to share her culture and language with us while helping us care for the most precious thing we have, our baby girl. There is so much more I can tell you about us and our island and I will if we have the chance to interview you.

Hello! Let me tell you about our little growing family, I’m Jossie, and my partner’s name is Brian. We have a beautiful 5 month old baby girl named Alana Moon and we live in St Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands in the Caribbean, I am a chef and corporate flight attendant, I work for a private aviation company and my job requires me to travel and be away 14 to 20 days a month. Brian owns and operates a water sport center that opens 7 days a weeks, during high season he works about 10 hours a day but he does have 2 days off a week, during low season he works less hours and is able to take more days off. I just went back to work from maternity leave and we are looking for someone to help us with the baby and around the house 4 days a week while we are working. We have 3 dogs, all island rescues, the 2 girls Coco and Almendra are 6 years old sisters and our boy Poppy is a senior 13 year old dog, these are our original children and we love them very much, we hope you would love them too. They are pretty mellow. We all love going for morning or afternoon walks to the beach with baby and the dogs, you are welcome to join us or go in your own time with them. We feed them twice a day morning and evening, it is not your responsibility but we might ask you to help some days.
Ok back to baby stuff, since my schedule is unpredictable and inconsistent we all need to be flexible about our daily and weekly schedules, some weeks might look the same and some other weeks we will figure things as they come. Brian has a more predictable work scheduled and is able to be flexible if needed.
We haven’t figure out a perfect schedule yet but we would need you 4 full days a week most likely Wednesday-Saturday giving you a full 3 days off and we will give you an schedule ahead of time before the start of each week. Brian’s mom has been staying with us helping us but soon she will return back home, my mom who lives on island comes 2 days a week to help us so we should have a good team/system that works for everyone.
Alana Moon is very active for her small age and seems very interested in everything around her, she enjoys books, music, sensor activities, being in the water, and dog snuggles.
You must be comfortable and capable of spending all day with an active infant doing proper activities, following instructions and keeping her safe. Feeding, eating and diaperchanging times are recorded on an app. There are a number of things you can do around here with the baby in and out of the house, walks, park, beach outing, playdates etc., doing her laundry and cloth diaper laundry once a week, keeping her play areas clean from dust and dog hair by vacuuming it once a day as well as washing her toys and pacifiers she likes to put in her mouth because of teething. I make all her baby food so all you have to do is warm it up for her.
More details will be discussed on the interview but essentially this is what we are looking for.
