Family's Introduction to Au Pair
We are the parents of Serena, a sweet female baby born on January 27, 2014. We are aware how playing is important for children, since playing is the mode by which babies explore world around them and learn everything. It’s also important that adults play with children to guide them in their growth especially when they are so cub. Moreover, by playing and interacting with a native English person a child can learn English as secondary language since the first years of age in a spontaneous and direct way.
As Serena’s parents we would like that our daughter grows learning English as an active language becoming in such a way a bilingual child. We think that an au-pair can be the most suitable way to get this. We expected that the living out au-pair may be a sympathetic playfellow who takes care of Serena during about 5 hours/day for 6 days in a week. We offer a weekly salary of 120 euro for 30 hours/week.
In our family there are me (daddy - Alessandro , 49 years old), my wife (mommy- Simonetta Capone, 52 years old) and the darling baby Serena (8 year and half). I'm a teacher working with children with physical/cognitive disabilities. I’m a pry person and I like to pay attention to any scientific curiosity or politics news from world, but my main passion (apart my wife…!) is astrophysics. I’m a sedate and responsible person; I’m very careful with my family.
My wife works as researcher and she is a mix of rationality and sentiment. She is very sweet and loving, a smart person named “Super-Simo” by her friends at her workplace. Now she is so happy to be Serena’s mommy and we are both really thrilled to raise our daughter.
We are simple, joyful and gentle persons. We like enjoy nature and our beautyful coast by doing trekking manly during spring. In summer we like to go to beach, that is some km away from the town Lecce.
We live in Lecce that is a little town (about 100,000 habitants). It lies in the region of Puglia, down at the heel of Italy's boot, surrounded by attractive countryside, seashore and small towns. The town is easy to reach by budget flights to Brindisi airport (40 km far from Lecce). searching on the web “salento” or “lecce” you can found some touristic information about our geographical area.
In Lecce there is the Università del Salento is a dynamic and versatile University with 10 Faculties, It also provides an international program, a School of Italian and Erasmus program for foreign students (search “international” in salento university
Job Description
From her birth our daughter was continuously exposed to language first by a native English babysitter and next by a USA one, just living in Lecce. Our experience with both of them was very positive, satisfying and joyous. At present, we hope to find another competent and brilliant girl as our previous collaborators were.
We expected that au-pair is responsible and heartfelt. She has to be competent to this teaching/childcare task, preferentially with some knowledge in baby sitting. We expected that the au-pair doesn’t simply like children, but she should be sincerely devoted to train Serena in English, integrating educational and behavioural teaching in her approach to our child in agreed with our education principles.
We will provide to au pair some useful tools as books, games, flash cards, CD, DVD, etc..
We will lovingly consider the au-pair as part of our family, so that any problem related to childcare, and possible divergence in respective character features, can be friendly discussed.
Finally, in order to avoid confounding behaviours for our daughter, the au-pair should avoid to speak Italian with her or with us at home, even if she could like to learn Italian during her stay.
We also expected that au pair kept clean her room, while she will decided as spending her free time, but we offer to bring her with us outside, maybe to visit our region if she likes it.
