Family's Introduction to Au Pair
I hope this letter finds you well. We are thrilled to invite you to join our family as an au pair for our beloved senior family member who is recovering from a stroke. Your experience, compassion, and dedication make you an ideal candidate for this important role.
As you may know, she is currently immobile and requires assistance with various activities of daily living. Your role will be crucial in providing her with the care and support she needs to regain her independence and improve her quality of life. Here are some of the key responsibilities and expectations we have for this position:
Personal Care: Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other hygiene-related activities. Supporting with feeding and ensuring dietary needs are met.
Medical and Therapy Assistance: Accompanying [Senior's Name] to and assisting during physical, occupational, and speech therapy sessions. Ensuring medications are taken as prescribed and managing any necessary medical equipment.
Daily Living Assistance: Preparing and serving meals in accordance with dietary requirements. Helping with mobility and ensuring safe transfer from bed to wheelchair and vice versa.
Housekeeping: Maintaining a clean and organized living environment. Performing light housekeeping duties related to her personal space.
Companionship and Emotional Support: Providing companionship and engaging in meaningful conversations. Encouraging participation in hobbies and social activities to prevent isolation.
Travel Assistance: Traveling with the family to various events and appointments. Ensuring all necessary items (medications, mobility aids, etc.) are prepared and transported.
We believe that your background in elderly care, especially with stroke recovery, as well as your CPR and First Aid certification, make you a perfect fit for this role. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with your patience, empathy, and positive attitude, will be invaluable in supporting her through her recovery journey.
In addition to a weekly stipend, we will provide meals and/or accommodation. You will also have the opportunity to travel with us to various events, ensuring that she remains actively engaged and supported throughout.
We are excited about the possibility of welcoming you into our family and working together to provide the best care for her.
Thank you for considering this role, and we hope to hear from you soon.
Warm regards,
