My name is Rona, I'm 21, originally from the Philippines and have lived in the UK for most of my life. I have an caring, warm and playful nature with a geniune passion working with children as I always strive to see their progress and happiness shine through! Moreover, I consider myself a compassionate, honest, and open-minded person with a positive outlook on life. My family and friends would probably describe me as down-to-earth, patient, and considerate.

Besides working at a nursery across different age groups, I have also finished my L3 diploma in early childhood education so looking forward to travel along with experiencing life in a new part of the world and I can't think of a better way than to become an au pair!

l enjoy planning activities to support children's interests and needs, since most of my hobbies are of the arts, such as cooking and playing the piano, I like to think outside the box and allow them to lead their play and freely express themselves as this enables me to extend their ideas in a way that encourages creativity, along with promoting their learning and well-being. I prioritise caring for children by supervising them to ensure they feel safe and secure. I am also kind and understanding in supporting the child emotionally by explaining gently and providing advice and guidance to help regulate their emotions. I greatly believe in being a positive role model for children, where I can nurture their confidence and independence. Additionally, I would strive to teach them important values and strong morals, like respect and empathy, as well as encourage them to be responsible and resilient. Moreover, I am reliable and organised, willing to help out in the house, such as household chores, and supporting with morning/sleep routines and preparing healthy snacks and meals for them.

It has always been my dream to work abroad. Moving to another country as a child at a young age and being immersed in a different culture made me realise my love for meeting new people, and learn about the universal English language which I am fluent in and would be very happy to also teach it.

In my life, I grew up on a farm in the Philippines with my large family, including my mother, granny, aunties, and cousins. Since moving to Cornwall when I was 7, I have been fortunate to experience the beautiful british countryside. I enjoy being outside in nature taking my dogs out for a walk on the cliffs by the coast and swimming at the beach. I am also creative and musical person as I love karoake and playing on the piano.
