My name is Sherri-Lee Brown, but you can call me Sherri! I’m 39 years old and hail from the beautiful city of Durban, South Africa. I’m thrilled about the opportunity to join your family as an Au Pair, where I hope to become a caring, reliable and fun part of your daily lives. My passion for caring for children started early in life. Growing up, I was often responsible for my younger brothers, which ignited my love for nurturing and educating kids. Over the past five years, I have gained extensive practical experience in childcare through babysitting and Au Pairing. I've had the privilege of caring for children of various ages, from toddlers who thrive on affection and attention to school-age kids who appreciate engaging activities, homework help and companionship. Ensuring their safety, happiness and healthy routines is always my top priority. I would describe myself as patient, responsible, energetic and creative. My adaptability shines in busy or challenging situations, where I maintain a calm demeanor. I love transforming ordinary days into extraordinary experiences whether that means building forts, engaging in arts and crafts, singing songs, playing outdoor games, baking cookies or reading bedtime stories with animated voices. I firmly believe that children learn best in an environment filled with love and playful structure. In my free time, I enjoy reading, swimming, and crafting, particularly macramé. I also speak both English and Afrikaans, hold a valid driver’s license and have a passion for teaching basic swimming skills. These interests help me bring fresh ideas and positive energy to a family’s routine. Family is very important to me. I come from a close-knit and lively family that cherishes every moment together. This background has instilled in me the values of respect, communication, and mutual support. I am eager to immerse myself in your family's culture and traditions, while also sharing my South African heritage with you. I seek a genuine cultural exchange where I can be more than just a helper. I aspire to become a trusted big sister figure to your children and a supportive member of your household. In return, I hope to learn about your community, travel and grow personally while positively contributing to your family. I am flexible and willing to assist with light household tasks related to the children, such as meal preparation, laundry, tidying play areas and supporting school routines.
