Dear family, My name is Shane. I am a 19 year-old scholar. I have been home-schooled almost my entire life and was originally doing Cambridge and have now switched over to CAPS. My dream is to eventually be a pediatric nursing practitioner and go into the rural areas where a lot of people don't have access to medical help.

I come from a family of 5, my mom is a stay at home mom as she was taking care of us and teaching us, and my dad is a senior solutions architect, I am the eldest of 3 girls and we are currently living with my grandfather to care for him in his old-age.

In a year or so I am hoping to be able to attend university, and in the mean time I would like to gain life experience, especially oriented around children. A couple years ago I volunteered at a children's home in Windsor east in Johannesburg and I also volunteered at SARDA (South African Riding for the Disabled Association) and absolutely fell in love with the innocence and joy the children got from horse riding and the visits. I would like to share that joy and help create good memories with kids as much as possible.
