I used to work in a hospitality setting as an Customer Service Rep./ Office person for almost 9 years before I gained my Nursing degree and had the opportunity to work as healthcare provider to a pedia client as a caregiver. Moreover, I've worked as a Medical Assistant to a private- practicing physician, giving me the chance to practice my nursing skills. I had some international travels enabling me to deal with foreign families (had the chance to work with a Norwegian employer last 2006 as a Personal Support Staff in their maritime business (home based) as well as being the carer of their 2 year-old daughter. But due to educational sponsorship offered to me, I went back to college again and took up Nursing . It was indeed a wise decision when I got back to college, I believe that nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm. When JOY and PERSEVERANCE is present, nothing is impossible with God. Serve with FAITH and He will direct our ways with a purpose. God alone is the author of a fulfilling life.. people and circumstances serving as His own instruments for us to put all matters into His own hands and time.

I took up Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has a general knowledge on healthcare. After careful weighing of things I deemed it best to apply as a nanny to foreign families since I am certain I will wait long enough to become a nurse abroad. I did weighed things, fact of the matter is, I do not want to stay futile while the "US recession" thing is keeping nurses down the drain. If i don't make a positive move , i'll be wasting golden time or years waiting for changes in the immigration laws. Why not make good on my profession as a healthcare provider to deserving families as my employer, and from there I will take one step at a time, while paving way for my success later on in life as a full time clinician. Happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything and I'm certain this will bring joy and fulfillment to both of us should I get the ample chance to grab the job offer. I believe that every job is a self-portrait of the person who does it. Autograph a work with excellence and do best in every task given and the output is great. There are no small jobs. Only people who perceive them as small become small in doing them. The best things in life are NOT free. Being with you is a privilege and honor and when I give myself, my loyalty to my work, I give the very BEST I HAVE.

Specific duties done for my former recipient of care :

Provides care in a nurturing and safe environment.

Involves in meal planning (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks).

Supervises during play or other outdoor and indoor activities.
Schedules and regulates daily routines such as bathing, dressing, chores, and bedtimes.

Reinforces discipline and rules of conduct that coincide with the parents’ methods of child rearing.

Supervises and helps out with child’s academic studies/ lessons.(acts as tutor).

Reinforces reading and writing activities, making sure that he completes his homework.

Helps child go to school.

Why do I like to take care of children?

Children are wonderful beings. They have timid and innocent minds, honest and truthful hearts, and are very adorable. I am a happy person, working with children brings me joy and creates another world for me. Throughout, I am looking forward to find anecdotes of wisdom from this caregiving job/ experience I will be handling. As a caregiver, I find delight and pride to be a part of a child's growing up years. Children have many ups and downs and many in-betweens. Just appreciating their stages of development as they explore their independence is a worthwhile experience. I was once a child too and I had a happy childhood. I want to render the same care to these children like what my mom taught me. Enhancing their skills in all areas, making leaps and bounds in language and motor, cognitive, social and psychological development are my focus. There might be frustrations along the way, but it is normal. Entering the children's world can help me understand their own world.. full of colors, dreams, imaginations, wishes, hopes! I maintain balance. To be fun and creative is really very important. A must so to speak.

While some carers immediately think of discipline as punishment, I am seeing this as an opportunity to teach. My ultimate goal is to develop self-control and sense of appropriate behavior. I prefer to be fun and creative, consistent while I offer explanations in a positive environment. One of the easiest way to prevent tantrums is setting up a positive environment. This method is proven to be effective.
