Introduction

Good day. My name is Hannah Jane, I am 23 years old, and I am a Senior High School graduate. I am writing to express my sincere interest in becoming an au pair and nanny in Europe. This opportunity represents much more than travel for me—it is a meaningful step toward personal growth, cultural exchange, and contributing positively to a family’s daily life.
I come from a close-knit family where responsibility, compassion, and independence were taught at an early age. To speak honestly from my heart, I feel a strong calling to step outside my comfort zone, to take a courageous step into a new country, and to discover my potential through new experiences. I wish to learn, to grow, and to build a future grounded in purpose. I believe that becoming an au pair is the beginning of that journey.
I fully understand the responsibility that comes with caring for children. It requires patience, consistency, emotional presence, and genuine love. I have experienced both the challenges and the profound joy of childcare through real-life responsibility, not only through theory.
In 2020, my sister became pregnant and was left without support from the child’s father. During this time, I stood by her as her main source of help. Our mother was working in Japan, and our father was living in our province, leaving the two of us to face this situation together. In October 2021, just two days before my sister gave birth, our father passed away. Two days later, the baby was born. This period tested our emotional strength, resilience, and faith.
Despite our grief and difficulties, we chose to remain strong. I was the first person to hold the baby after birth, and from that moment on, I took an active role in the child’s daily care. My sister and I worked hand in hand to raise the child with love, discipline, and stability. Today, the child is four years old—healthy, intelligent, affectionate, and emotionally secure. I am deeply grateful to God for guiding us through that time and for teaching me the true meaning of responsibility, patience, and unconditional care.
Through this experience, I learned that childcare is not only about supervision—it is about emotional connection, understanding a child’s needs, and creating a safe and nurturing environment where they can grow confidently.
In addition to childcare, I am well-prepared to assist with household responsibilities. From a young age, my parents taught me the importance of independence and practical life skills. I am experienced in cooking, laundry, cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a well-structured household. I take pride in being reliable, organized, and respectful of a family’s routines and values.
I consider myself trustworthy, warm, adaptable, and deeply caring. I respect cultural differences and look forward to learning European traditions, languages, and family values while sharing my own culture with openness and humility. I am confident that I can become not only a helpful au pair, but also a positive and respectful presence in a host family’s home.
Thank you for taking the time to read my application. I would be honored to be given the opportunity to grow, learn, and contribute as an au pair in Europe.
Sincerely,
Hannah Jane
