My name is Peter, and I’m a 24-year-old Kenyan currently working as a chef on a cruise ship. I’ll be turning 25 this August, and I’m now looking to begin a new and meaningful chapter of my life — becoming an au pair in a welcoming and respectful family.
I have always enjoyed working with people, especially children. Growing up in Kenya as the eldest sibling, I had the responsibility and joy of helping raise and care for my younger brothers and sisters. From preparing their meals to helping them with homework and even organizing games or story time, I’ve been very involved in their growth and development. That experience made me patient, dependable, and deeply nurturing. It’s one of the main reasons I want to become an au pair — I love supporting children and families in daily life.
I’m currently employed full-time on a luxury cruise ship as a chef. My job requires me to be organized, clean, quick-thinking, and a great team player. I bring those same qualities into family life — whether it’s keeping routines on track, helping with cooking and chores, or being a calm and steady presence in the home. I’d be happy to share some cooking skills with your family too, especially if you’re interested in African dishes or general healthy meals.
English is my first language, and I’m confident tutoring children in reading, writing, and speaking English. I’ve helped my siblings with their studies back home and have always enjoyed watching them grow more confident with a little extra guidance. I’m also eager to learn your native language and culture. I believe this exchange should go both ways — I want to help your children learn from me, and I want to learn from you too.
As a person, I’m kind, respectful, reliable, and calm. I don’t smoke or drink, I’m very clean and health-conscious, and I’m good at adjusting to new environments. I also enjoy photography, music, video editing, fitness, and learning new skills online during my free time. I see au pairing as a beautiful opportunity to connect with a different way of life while doing something that feels natural to me — caring for others.
