Dear Host family,
I am very excited about getting to know you, but first, I would like to introduce myself to make your decision easier.
My name is Novák Lili, a 21-year-old girl from Hungary. I am looking for an au pair host family or a family needing a live-in nanny.
In my free time, I appreciate a good book or try out a recipe and bake mostly sweets and cakes, my chocolate fondue is well-known at parties. Additionally, I enjoy listening to music, and I have played the cello for 12 years and have been in a non-specialist classical band for three years, called Amateur Mozarts. I don’t despise sports as well, two of my favorite activities are wall climbing and archery, although I can not aim yet with the bow well. My family also has a dog named Szamóca, that means wild strawberry in English, a cat, and a hamster. My oldest sister and I are the ones who are looking after them.
When it comes to child care experience, I have taken care of children in both formal and unofficial contexts. Since secondary school, I helped with at least two or three children’s camps per year. That experience helped me to learn how to treat kids with different needs and be a children’s mom, friend, and big sister in one person. Besides, I tutored disadvantaged kids in addition to getting them better grades. On the other hand, I have helped out with my siblings from a young age I was assumed the responsibility if my parents were not around. I also served as a babysitter to numerous families from age 15. The kids I work with are usually between 3 and 11 years old, but I know how to deal with babies and younger kids too, since I was already 10 years old when my youngest sibling was born, and 16 when my older cousins started to have kids on their own, and from time to time I helped them out with their babies. Also, I have a family where I babysit a 1,5-year-old boy, so I know how to deal with separation anxiety. In addition, I already have experience as an au pair, I went abroad to France for one year. I had a fantastic time there, and I know what to expect and how to adapt to the new environment.
I love taking care of children, and along the process, I became an expert storyteller and game inventor. Of course I possess the basic abilities which are needed in an Au Pair, such as helping with homework, managing morning and nighttime routines, doing basic house chores, preparing a meal, finding the missing pair of the sock, and making a good cup of hot chocolate to calm the nerves. My most beloved part of taking care of children is the process in which I get to know their personalities and bond with them.
I look upon myself as a friendly, patient, and honest person. I try to make the best of every situation and be flexible in most cases.
The reason why I want to apply as an Au Pair is that I would like to get to know people from another culture, their habits, and everyday life, gather valuable memories with a new family, and get to know some new friends who are in the same shoes as me. It is also an excellent opportunity to perfect my language skills and to become more independent, and open-minded.
