My name is Britta, I’m 21 years old and I come from Germany. I grew up in a family of five and am the oldest of three siblings. Over the past few years, I’ve spent a lot of time around children — both in my family and through my voluntary work.

For the last three years, I took part in a voluntary social year at a childcare center, where I looked after more than 30 children of different ages, personalities, and needs. My responsibilities included supervising playtime, helping during meals, assisting with everyday routines, resolving small conflicts, and working closely with both parents and coworkers. This experience gave me valuable insights into children’s development and taught me how to adapt to a wide variety of situations.

In addition to this professional experience, I’ve always been actively involved in caring for my two younger siblings. Through them, I learned how important patience, emotional understanding, and reliability are in daily family life.

I decided to become an au pair/nanny because I truly enjoy working with children and want to combine this passion with the opportunity to explore another country and its way of life. I’m especially interested in learning about new cultures and languages — and living with a host family gives me the chance to do that in a very real and personal way.

As a person, I am cheerful, open-minded, and very reliable. I adjust quickly to new environments and enjoy being part of a team — or, in this case, a family. I take my responsibilities seriously and always bring a positive attitude, especially when working with children.
