I had worked as AuPair several times. The first time I worked for Swiss family in Lausanne as live-in AuPair where boy was in his teen years so my interactions with him were limited as he had his own interests and friends. My work there was more focused on keeping their 3 bedroom home clean and organized. My second live-in AuPair work was for american family in Los Angeles with their six year old girl. My duties were as follows: I would assist girl every morning with her washing/dressing up and breakfast routine, then I would drive her to her school and later pick her up from school in the afternoon. Occasionally we would go to the local park to play. In the meantime I would take care of 4 bedroom household rooms/bathrooms. I would prepare girl snack in the afternoon, she was vegetarian and cooking was never involved. My third live-in AuPair was again in Los Angeles for single father with disabled teen son. His son had Down syndrome and I would mainly spend time with him or was near by making sure he is occupied with his toys and had everything he needed. He loved to play basketball so I would drive him to playground where we would play together. I am skilled artist too so occasionally we would draw and paint. I would make light meals for him daily. His father was working away in the boat yard, and would be absent for 7 days on/off, so I was full time assistant to the boy alternating 7 days/off.
As far as elderly care I had cared for dear friend in Florida, that I befriended during my cruise ship work days. She had bad back injury so I would come help her out with light cooking (breakfast only), cleaning her home, and driving her to her senior community center where she would have time to socialize with her friends daily. I like to note that I would be interested to help to elderly but really depends on individual case situation/demands and responsibilities. I also like to note that I can do light cooking and light meal preparation's, but would abstain from cooking big meals daily as this is not my forte. Thank you
