Hi Dear Host Family
I’m María Camila Chavarro Vargas, I’m 21 years old and I’m from Bogotá Colombia. I live with my mom named Maritza, my stepfather named Carlos and my dog named Milu.
My mother is a housewife because she is already retired, I have a older brother named Juan David, he is 29 years old and lives with his wife and children
Carlos work as a driver of a kindergarten route, sometimes I help him a monitor of the children on the route, we even have a very happy greeting every time I go up a child, we sing all the way to school, it's a lot fun!!
I was born and raised in the city of Bogotá, but about 4 years ago we moved to Tocancipá, it is a very quiet and small town, near Tocancipá I finished school.
Before the COVID pandemic I had my first job which was as a recreationist, our job was to plan and carry out the recreational vacations of the children of the employees of different companies, which consisted of attending with large groups of children of all ages to places such as museums, theme parks, amusement parks, mines, camps in warm cities, water parks, restaurants and clubs.
In this work I got to be a charge of 22 children, here I learned to understand and entertai children in a educated way and I also learned to be very patient and understand with them, with them I understood that communication and respect is the most important thing to have a good relationship either with children or in general, I really learned a lot from them. After the pandemic started I had to retire from this job and then I started working at the theme park "Jaime Duque" as a tour guide, it is a very large and beautiful park. There are animals, even a replica of the Taj Mahal, it would be great if one day you knew it.
I also started studying a early childhood care technician. I consider my experience with children to be great. I had the wonderful opportunity to work with children in a kindergarten I was in for 1 year. The first 6 months I had a course of 14 children from 6 to 7 years old and the other 6 months I had a course of 6 children from 8 months to 5 years old. In the garden I gave classes in language, English, arts, dances and also did homework reinforcement, also all the accompaniment in personal care such a diaper changing, go to the bathroom, changing clothes and feeding. To complete I have always been from a large family and I have many small cousins that I have taken care of and two nephews of 3 and 7 years, since they were born I have contributed to their care and education, I am a very close, loving and constant aunt.
Since I was little my mother taught me to help with housework, cleaning, cooking, washing clothes and crockery. I like to cook and make desserts. I have a very good relationship with my mom and her husband. And that you can’t a miss my dog Milu, who is he baby from the house. One of our passions is to help street animals like dogs and cats, it's something we love to do, we are even home to some animal foundations. We like to make many family plans, we think family union is very important, we have lunch outside, we go to the movies in the cinema, or shopping, we do BBQ, we really like to go to dog recreation parks to take our dogs.
My aspiration is to be able be a professional in modern languages and my idea is be able to start after my experience as an AuPair since with this program I will have the opportunity to improve my English too much that for me it is very important be able to have a fluent English and I know that with your help be able to achieve it and be able to arrive with good foundations to the university and by friends who have experienced this program encourage me and I found this agency that fulfilled all my expectations and needs. Being an AuPair seems to me a excellent opportunity to learn the language and a culture totally different from mine and I chose the United States because it is the best place to learn English, it has such beautiful cities that I am dying to know, I want to try the food, the wonderful parks, the museums and the opportunity to live with an American family, learning from their lives, routines, and their children is something I would love.
My uncle has lived in Florida for 10 years, he is already an American citizen and tells me that in general people are very friendly, fun and welcoming.
I am really very excited to live this experience in another country in a family environment, that living with your children and with you in a country like USA, will contribute to my personal growth, I would love to be part of your family!
