Dear future host family,

It is a pleasure to address you and have the opportunity to introduce myself as a candidate to be your Au Pair. My name is María Camila Martínez Toca, and I am excited about the possibility of becoming part of your beautiful family in the coming months. Allow me to tell you a little about myself and my experiences so far.

Regarding my family, I am the daughter of loving and understanding separated parents. My mother is a kind and loving person who has always supported me in my decisions and taught me the value of honesty and empathy. My grandfather is my paternal figure and a constant source of support in my life, always ready to provide advice and share his wisdom. I also have two younger brothers who are an endless source of energy and fun. Our relationship is very close, and we enjoy spending time together doing activities such as outdoor outings, playing board games, and watching movies as a family.

Currently, I am attending the Universidad Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios, where I am studying a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, in addition to having a technical degree as a preschool assistant. From an early age, I showed an affinity for teaching and the arts in general, which have become my greatest academic strengths. I recall a funny anecdote from my school days when I participated in a theater competition and won my first leading role in that year's main play at the young age of 9. It was an exciting moment and taught me that effort and dedication can truly yield great results.

My motivations to become an Au Pair are diverse. Firstly, I have a great love for children and greatly enjoy spending time with them, considering the education and upbringing of human beings as my vocation. I love their energy and their ability to see the world with wonder. Secondly, my fundamental purpose is to improve my English language skills and immerse myself in a new culture. The United States has always been a destination that has fascinated me, with its cultural diversity and educational and professional opportunities.

As for my language skills, my current level of English is intermediate. I am constantly working on improving it, and I am confident that living with your family will provide me with an excellent opportunity to practice and perfect my language skills.

During my free time, I like to stay active and participate in artistic activities such as theater plays, artistic performances, choreographies, or open classes. I enjoy exercising to stay fit and maintain a healthy balance in my life. I also have a keen interest in cultural activities, such as visiting museums, attending concerts, and discovering new forms of artistic expression. These activities allow me to broaden my horizons and explore different forms of creativity. I particularly love reading works by Latin American Boom authors, as their texts immerse me in a world of astonishment and absolute admiration.

As for my experience in childcare, I have had the opportunity to work as a preschool teacher for the past two years. I have also cared for children of different ages and have learned to adapt to their individual needs. I have a special ability to create a safe and fun environment for them while establishing boundaries and promoting positive values. My main goal is always to provide them with quality care and attention while being a role model in their development. In terms of household chores, I also have experience in tasks such as cleaning, organizing, laundry, and cooking. I particularly enjoy baking.

My expectations are to become part of a loving and welcoming family as a support and older sister figure. I wish to establish a close bond with the children and assist them in their growth and development. I also value open and honest communication and am willing to collaborate in the organization and planning of family activities. In summary, I hope to contribute meaningfully to your home while also learning and growing as an individual.
