Hello,
My name is Kayla. I’m 27 years old. A little about myself. I’m from Ontario, Canada. I’ve lived here my whole life. Haven’t had much travel experience but I would like to change that. I’m excited to start my adventures Au Pairing in Canada. I am patient, easygoing, loyal, flexible, honest and creative.
Things I enjoy in my spare time, relaxing at home and watching tv shows, I enjoy making crafts using my cricut machine, working on diamond painting and other crafts. Also doing puzzles and playing video games, going out with my friends for a enjoyable meal. Our favourite is sushi.
About my jobs I’ve had:
My very first jng newspapers to mailboxes around my neighbourhood, which I had for about 6 years. Next, I did corn detasseling for 1 season only which wasn’t fun. When I was 14 years old, I started babysitting my neighbours children.
Now about my childcare experience:
I’ve been working in childcare for about 8 years and about 10 years in experience from newborn to school age.
It all started when I attended daycare while my mom worked, always helped out the teachers, things like help putting artwork in cubbies to rubbing backs of the younger children. That’s when the love of teaching children started.
Forward to many years later, when I was in grade 11 and grade 12. I did a placement at a Montessori Daycare one semester and moved on to another Daycare. It helped me learn a lot to take with me in the future, from simple discipline to doing documentation for Ministry.
When I graduated from grade 12, I was hired on at the daycare I did my placement. I worked there nine months before they closed their doors. Then, lucky to get hired at the daycare where the supervisor from my old daycare worked. I was hired as a teachers assistant. I worked there for 6 1/2 years. I felt I needed a change.
Currently, I found a position at a private home for two children getting them ready for school in the morning and meeting the school bus to get them after school. I take care of them until their parents return from work. I also help with simple household chores and dinner prep.
I would love to start being an Au Pair/ nanny, I want to experience the culture of other areas in Canada. Making new memories and making new friends. I hope I can meet the right host family and can’t wait chat soon.
