Dear host family,
my name is Alisa and I am 18 years old. I am living in Austria in a smaller town near to Vienna. I am half Austrian and half Romanian, but only speak German and English. I love everything that has to do with a healthy lifestyle such as working out, going on runs, eating healthy (at least I try to), spending time outside and having an optimistic mindset.
I also adore spending time with my friends and family and doing fun activities with them, such as going to a coffee shop or to the cinema, having a picknick or exploring the city or just have a sleepover at home. I am a huge fan of cooking and baking and I love to listen to music. My favorite musician is Taylor Swift. I am a huge fan of Gilmore Girls, Harry Potter and Friends and I love tiramisu, wraps and every kind of fruits and vegetables.
I would say I am a very outgoing, open, and kind person and I try to make the best of every situation. I love to make my family and friends feel special with gifts and small gestures.
I live in a house with a big garden in a small neighborhood. My parents are married and are both dentists. I have two brothers - one is 14 and the other one is 21. My tasks at home are to do the dishes and bring out the garbage sometimes, as well as keep my room clean and cook lunch for me and my brothers. I was also babysitting my brother when he was younger. We would play games, so homework, cook or just relax together.
My family and I have one movie night every week and we try to eat together as much as possible. Since my parents work a lot, we don’t see each other that much during the week, which is way we try to make little trips and fun activities on the weekends.
I am currently attending a high school with the focus on economics and my favorite subjects are History, English and Math. I would say I am a pretty good student, but I still try to focus more on the fun in life, and spending time with my family and friends.
I have been to Miami and New York as well as Los Angeles. I did an exchange year in LA and fell in love with the city. I met amazing people as well as my boyfriend Arvin. We have been long distance ever since and I look forward to being in the same time zone with him again. My exchange year was amazing! I had a great host family and was able to see a lot of different places in LA as well as California in general.
The parts I am most excited about are first, to spend time with you and get the chance to live like an American. Second, I am looking forward to spending a lot of time with your children. I have always loved kids and have always taken care of my little brother. I am a very creative person and love to draw, craft and cook. But I also love movie nights as well as spending some time in the garden.
During my stay with you, I hope to improve my English, especially my pronunciation. Additionally, I really want to make great friends and be able to get to know you. I think this hole journey is going to help me to grow my independence and knowledge about people and to further develop my character.
I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to spend have a year with you and want to say a huge THANK YOU that you are taking me in and allow me to stay with you and meet your children.
