Dear future Host Family!
My name is Elisaveta (but basically everyone calls me Lisa) and I was born and raised by a loving family in a relatively small village called Gmünd in Lower Austria. I celebrated my 18th birthday in August and gratuated from high school this year. Because I grew up in a very rural area, I have always been very eager to travel and experience different cultures. That’s why I thought taking a gap year and becoming an au-pair would be the perfect opportunity to get out of my comfort zone, find out what I really want in life and form meaningful connections with new people. Currently I am an Au Pair in Tahiti, French Polynesia. Staying probably until January, I am now on the lookout for a new family around the world. German is my mother tongue, but I have been learning English for 8 years now and can speak fluently. Furthermore, my second mother tongue is Russian and I have been studying French since 4 years. Though, I have to say that my Russian has gotten quite rusty, but I understand everything without any problems. In French I understand the basics and can speak (at best ;)) on an A2 level. But my French has already improved so much since I have been living in French Polynesia. Since I want to enhance my English and/ or French skills, an English or French-speaking family would fit perfectly. Nevertheless, I would not hesitate to take language courses of the local language if I ended up in a non-English-speaking country. I am looking forward to receiving some requests and, in the following, finding my “perfect match” :)

Currently I am an AU PAIR in French Polynesia. I am living with a family of 6. One 14 month year old girl and three more girls of the age of 5, 7 and 12. I drive them everyday to school, help them with homework, plan activities and cook for them if needed. The family has also a dog. So if you are looking for a girl who has already some experience with kids of any age, maybe we would be a great fit. I try speaking French with the kids and its getting better everyday, I also encourage them to learn english with me to suuport their language learning. Here in Tahiti i also found my passion for the ocean, i want to get better at diving and surfing and looking forward to making my boat license here.

About me: I’ve grown up with my sister, which basically is my other half, our 5 year old dog and my parents in a residential area consisting many family homes. Which means I was and am always confronted with children of all ages. But I think this was the best part of growing up! You could play on the streets without worrying and your neighbor was your best friend. As I grew older I have babysitted my neighbors’ children and could already gather some experience there. Furthermore, since my 6th birthday I’ve been an ambitious scout and was able to obtain some very helpful skills, like surviving in the wild, making fire and knots. So if you have active and adventurous kids, I’m sure I will find something to entertain them with ;) As a trained youth scout I helped out coaching and taking care of the children in our annual summer camps or on project days. One of my other passions is playing the violin. Everyone in my family plays at least one instrument, so basically, I’ve been surrounded with music my whole life. I’ve been playing the violin since I was 3 and won many international competitions. Music helped me a lot during school time and made learning so much easier. So if needed I could give your children music lessons. As I did competitive atheletics for about 3 years and then transitioned to weight training in the Gym because of an injury, an active family would be an ideal fit. But I also wouldn’t mind trying to motivate you to come along :) As an Austrian I of course love skiing and hiking. I am a very open and outgoing person and love socializing and meeting new people. I can adapt pretty fast to new environments and don’t mind being spontaneous. I am a huge family and pets person and would consider myself as responsible. I am an empathetic and warm hearted person, however if needed I can stand up for myself. All in all I love sports, music, nature and pets and would love for you to maybe become my chosen second family :)
