G’day! My name is Alicia and I am a 22 year-old Australian excited to introduce myself to you. I grew up on the Gold Coast, Australia, with my Mum (who is from New Zealand), my Dad (who has Dutch parents) and my older brother. I moved out of home at age 18 to Brisbane City to pursue my university degree, and that is where I currently live and work full time.
I recently graduated from the University of Queensland with a degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (honours), and I have experience tutoring children in English. Beyond my studies, I have a deep appreciation for nature, animals and staying active. Growing up, I spent many hours with our family dog, learning to ride horses, playing basketball, swimming, and spending time with friends. I have a passion for sports of all kinds and a enjoy going on skiing holidays with my family in New Zealand. I love to travel, and spent a couple of weeks in Thailand in January this year with my best friend. I am also a very passionate music lover, and go see as many bands play live as I can.
I'm on the lookout for a unique opportunity to immerse myself in Dutch culture while providing support as a live-in nanny. With a cultural working holiday visa secured from August, I'm excited about the possibility of spending the next 6 months to a year in the Netherlands and exploring all that this beautiful country has to offer.
I am a responsible, trustworthy individual who takes great pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organisation. With a valid international driver's licence (for automatic cars) and proactive nature, I am well-equipped to assist with daily errands, school runs, and outdoor activities. Moreover, my enthusiasm for cooking, particularly healthy recipes, will ensure that your family is well-fed and nourished.
More than just seeking a job, I'm on a quest to understand what it means to be Dutch, to embrace the traditions, learn the language, and way of life that has shaped my hertiage. This won't be my first time in the Netherlands, as I came over at the age of 15 by myself for 3 months and had the opportunity to attend an international school. It was a truly eye-opening experience, and I'm excited to return to experience the country now as an adult.
I come with an open heart and a willingness to contribute in any way I can. As a nanny, I offer not only my skills and experience but also a genuine desire to connect, learn, and grow alongside your family.
