Greetings, future host family. I'm Megan. I am 24 years old and from the United States. I am fond of doing things outdoors. In my free time, I love to kayak, ski, swim, and show my dairy cows at local and national shows.

The reason I want to become an au pair is because I enjoy working with kids and would love to have a home away from home. Family is important to me and I'd like to be a big sister for 6 months, adding excitement and adventure to each other's lives. I want to connect with the family I am living with and help in any way I can to make the host family's lives easier.

My experience with kids includes babysitting, camp counselor/camp director of music and drama, parks and recreation counselor, and organizing kids' events at a resort. These jobs have helped me learn how to be proactive, patient, and always be flexible. When it comes to planning for the day, I like to be proactive to ensure I am ready for many things. It is also important to be patient and flexible when dealing with the kids. Suppose they want to do an activity or the plan doesn't work out as planned, so I need to think on my feet to come up with a better activity or come up with a way to salvage the original plan.

Being active is very important to me. My favorite thing to do is being outside whether it is swimming at the beach or hiking in the woods. I enjoy exploring new places and trying new things. As a person, being creative and doing dance parties in the living room or having a sing-along in the car is always fun. Even putting on a talent show with the kids can be so much fun. This is what I did with my younger siblings and cousins growing up.

I am qualified to be an au pair because I have multiple years of experience working with kids in different scenarios and am first aid certified. I also am a 4-H volunteer leader helping kids with leadership skills and helping them with projects.
