Hi! My name is Sofia, I’m 19 years old and I’m from Italy. I recently finished high school and I’m looking for an au pair experience abroad where I can become more independent, improve my English and, most importantly, become part of a kind and welcoming family.

I’m a very sociable, cheerful and energetic person. I love meeting new people, discovering new places and trying new things. I can be a little spontaneous and talkative, but I’m also responsible and caring, especially when it comes to children. I really enjoy creating a positive atmosphere and making children feel comfortable, listened to and safe.

I have experience with children through my summer experience as a volunteer animator at a local oratorio in Italy. For two summers, I spent my days with children from around 4 to 12/13 years old, usually from the morning until the afternoon. I helped organise games and activities, played sports with them, prepared and supervised meals, took part in excursions and helped make sure everyone was having fun and was safe. This experience taught me how to be patient, attentive and responsible while still being playful and fun.

I also have younger cousins, so I have always been around children and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them. I would be happy to play with your children, help with creative activities, drawing, games, reading stories, outdoor activities or simply be there for them during their daily routine. I understand that every child is different, and I would like to learn their personality, interests and routines rather than treating every child in the same way.

I would also be happy to help with simple tasks related to the children, such as preparing their meals, helping them get ready, tidying their toys and keeping their rooms and play areas organised.

Outside of childcare, I love cooking, travelling, music, films and discovering different cultures. I danced for many years and I also enjoy going to the gym and being active. I would love to explore my new city, meet new people and experience everyday life in another country.

One of the main reasons I want to become an au pair is because I don’t just want to visit another country as a tourist. I would love to actually experience family life, learn about another culture and build a genuine relationship with my host family. I would be happy to share my Italian culture with you too, including cooking some Italian food and bringing a little piece of Italy into your home.

My English is currently around B1 level and one of my goals is to become much more confident speaking English every day. I am not afraid of making mistakes and I’m excited to learn. I can also speak some Spanish.

For me, being an au pair is not simply a job. I hope to become someone your children can trust and feel comfortable with, almost like an older sister. At the same time, I understand the importance of respecting your family’s rules, privacy and routines.

I would love to find a family where we can communicate openly, trust each other and make this experience special for everyone. I’m really excited about the possibility of meeting a new family, discovering a new country and starting this new chapter of my life.
