Introduction
Hi! My name is Sean, pronounced “Shan,” and I’m from the Philippines. By 2027, I’ll be 24 years old, and I’m very excited about the possibility of becoming an au pair and being part of a family in another country.
I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. I haven’t started my professional career yet because I’m taking some time to think about the direction I want to take. One thing I do know is that I want to experience the world while I’m still young, become more independent, and learn things that I simply can’t learn by staying in the same environment.
I’m planning to start my au pair journey after April 30, 2027. This date is important to me because my two eldest and closest cousins are getting married on April 23 and April 30. They are the first ones in our generation to get married, and because we grew up very close, I really want to be there for both of these special moments before beginning my own adventure abroad.
I come from a close and supportive family, so I understand how meaningful it is to have people you can trust and feel comfortable with. I’m naturally a quiet and introverted person. I can be shy when I first meet people and usually take a little time to open up, but once I’m comfortable, I become much more relaxed. I’m not the loudest or most energetic person, and I actually enjoy peaceful days and simple moments.
I’m particularly interested in being an au pair because I genuinely enjoy children and animals. My childcare experience mainly comes from helping look after my younger cousins, and I’ve always been comfortable around babies and toddlers. I know I still have a lot to learn, so I’m willing to listen, follow your routines, and learn how you prefer your children to be cared for.
And if you have pets—especially dogs—you may have just found someone who will be very happy! ?? I have 17 small dogs at home, and I’m very attached to them. I’ve hand-fed them, cared for them, and even slept beside them. So helping with your pets would definitely be something I’d enjoy.
At home, I can help with cleaning, laundry, organizing, and everyday light household tasks. I can cook very basic food such as hotdogs, nuggets, fried food, and simple meals, and I can also grill over charcoal (ihaw). I’m not an advanced cook, but I’d happily be the helpful kitchen assistant and learn along the way. I can also bake simple things—although I still trust the recipe more than my instincts! ??
During my free time, I enjoy watching movies and series, occasionally reading novels or manhwa, spending time with my dogs and family, and traveling when I have the opportunity. I can also play badminton and volleyball—not professionally, just for fun! I’m always open to trying and learning new things, especially when someone is willing to teach me.
I’ve had the chance to travel to Dubai, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Vietnam, but I want my next experience to be different. I don’t want to simply visit another country as a tourist. I want to experience everyday life, learn the culture, meet new people, and understand what it’s like to be part of a family abroad.
I understand that being an au pair is not simply a way to travel. It comes with responsibilities, patience, flexibility, and respect for the host family’s home and routines. In return, I hope to find a family where we can communicate openly, respect each other, and build a genuine relationship.
I may be a little shy at first, but I’m excited to step outside my comfort zone. I hope I can find a family who will give me the opportunity to grow, learn, and create some wonderful memories together.
I’d love to hear from you and get to know your family!
Warmly,
Sean
