Au Pair/Nanny job description

The weekly schedual has fixed hours: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 7.00 am till 10.00 a.m. and from 4.30pm till 7.00pm. There will be some flexible hours aswell on Friday afternoon and some evenings. We can work out the flexible schedual together, depending on the needs of the family and the preferences of the au pair or nanny. We ask to be helpfull when it comes to do some laundry, running groceries and preparing the meals. There will be fixed tasks as cleaning up after diner and ironing children's clothes. We will provide a room in our house in the center of Amsterdam near to one of the trainstations. On your days off you can go and explore the Netherlands and even Belgium in (day)trips to Rotterdam, Den Haag, Brussels, Antwerp and Bruges. You will be working mostly around 32 hours a week.

We are a very lively family with a lot going on. We have 1 girl (3,5 year) and a boy (2 year). We are looking for an outgoing and honest type a person who is ready to discover the beautiful city of Amsterdam. We will give you a nice work environment in a loving family. As we are a family with 2 young children and two working parents, we are looking for a responsible, loving and hands on girl to have a lot of fun with, while we are navigating trough daily routines together. As parents we want a 'coworker' to get to know our daugther and son and give them the best support in growing up. In the mean time we want to give our children an open view to the world, open minded and respectful towards all kinds of people. We believe in giving boundaries to the children, so they will grow in to educated and good citizens. There for we are looking for somebody who is able to discipline the children when they need to be given the right directions. We are looking forward to welcome you in Amsterdam and get to know you as a person! We will help you find a hobby or other ways to get to know other people so you will be able to have a good time here. There are a lot of aupairs in the neighbourhood. We have had a lovely time with our previous aupairs/nannies. She will go back to her studies now. The children are now at an age to learn English. They are very excited about that and even practicing now! There for it is required that you are an English native speaker. We are looking for a solide individual who can manage Amsterdam live on her own after work. In Amsterdam you can use the bike all the time, we also have a 'bakfiets' a special bike to drive 2 or 3 children in one time. There for we need an au pair who is not afraid to bike and go into traffic in the city. You will pick up the kids from school and take them home or to their after school activities.
