Dear Host Family, My name is Ananda Elysia, and I come from Jakarta, Indonesia. I am currently a
university student majoring in Psychology at Universitas Persada Indonesia YAI. I grew up in
a warm and family-oriented environment that taught me responsibility, empathy, and care for
others from a young age. I have siblings and younger relatives, which makes me familiar with
interacting with children of different ages and personalities. Being surrounded by family has
helped shape my patience and sensitivity, especially when it comes to understanding
children’s emotions and needs. I would describe myself as a positive, friendly, open-minded person with happy vibes. I have good emotional intelligence, which helps me stay calm, patient, and understanding in
different situations, especially with children. I enjoy communicating, listening, and building
trust naturally. In my free time, I like reading books related to psychology and self- development, journaling, listening to music, and doing creative activities. I also enjoy
walking, light outdoor activities, and exploring new places. I believe these hobbies help me
stay balanced, energetic, and engaged qualities that are important when spending time with
children.Most of my experience with children comes from my involvement in various
volunteer and educational programs. One of them is Ruang Mengajar Psikologi, where I
worked with underprivileged children through psychology-based and creative learning
activities. In this program, I interacted with children ranging from 3 to 17 years old, which
helped me understand different developmental stages and communication approaches. I
assisted in teaching, guiding activities, and creating a safe space where children could express
themselves emotionally through games, drawing, storytelling, and group discussions. I
learned how to be patient, encouraging, and attentive, especially when children needed extra
emotional support or motivation. In addition to Ruang Mengajar Psikologi, I have been actively involved in other
volunteer programs such as Duta Semesta and Kampus Mengajar. Through these experiences, I supported children’s learning processes, helped improve basic literacy and numeracy skills, and assisted educators in classroom activities. I also participated in organizing social and
mental health–related events, which strengthened my teamwork, leadership, and
communication skills. Working with children from diverse backgrounds taught me
adaptability, empathy, and the importance of creating a positive and inclusive environment.

I want to become an au pair because I truly enjoy spending time with children and
being part of their growth and daily life. I see the au pair program as a meaningful cultural
exchange where I can learn, share experiences, and build strong connections with a host
family. I chose Belgium because I am interested in learning about its culture, traditions, and
festivals, as well as experiencing everyday life in a multicultural European country. I believe
Belgium offers a supportive environment for personal growth while allowing me to
contribute positively to a family. Through this au pair experience, I hope to become a caring, reliable, and supportive
presence for your children and your family. I am eager to learn, adapt, and grow through this
