Hello! We are Katherine (American, 45 years old), C (10) and T (6). We have live in Germering, near Munich. Their father, my husband, died unexpectedly about 18 months ago. We are looking for 20 h/wk childcare in the afternoon. Our kids are being raised bilingually and you can speak either German or English with the kids, as you like. Our youngest daughter, Tessa, loves cuddling, learning to jump, and playing in the sandbox in our backyard. Our older daughter likes dressing up, learning letters and words, crafts that need cutting and gluing, playing make believe (like imaginary games of ice cream shop, ballet school, house, or baby cat school). Some household tasks we would like to share with the nanny are: preparing creative activities for kids (such as Basteln), teaching them/helping them to clean up after themselves, cutting up fruits and veggies for their Brotzeiten, and photographing the pile of artwork that is accumulating on top of our wardrobe so we can make a photobook and throw some of it away. The two love to play together and get along well. I would like to make a contract for a fixed salary per week for twenty hours. I will report the work to the government appropriately and pay taxes. It is a nontrivial task, because both children need someone experienced and loving who can help them manage the transition from school to home.
